Salmos, 149

1. Aleluia. Cantai ao Senhor um cântico novo; (ressoe) o seu louvor na assembleia dos santos.

1. Alleluia! Sing a new song to Yahweh: his praise in the assembly of the faithful!

2. Alegre-se Israel no seu criador, os filhos de Sião regozijem-se em seu rei.

2. Israel shall rejoice in its Maker, the children of Zion delight in their king;

3. Louvem o seu nome entre danças, cantem-lhe salmos com o tímpano e a cítara,

3. they shall dance in praise of his name, play to him on tambourines and harp!

4. porque o Senhor ama o seu povo e glorifica os humildes com a vitória.

4. For Yahweh loves his people, he will crown the humble with salvation.

5. Exultem os santos de glória, alegrem-se em seus leitos.

5. The faithful exult in glory, shout for joy as they worship him,

6. Os louvores de Deus estejam na sua boca, e espadas de dois fios nas suas mãos,

6. praising God to the heights with their voices, a two-edged sword in their hands,

7. para exercer (a divina) vingança entre as gentes, e castigos entre os povos;

7. to wreak vengeance on the nations, punishment on the peoples,

8. para prender os seus reis com grilhões, e os seus nobres com algemas de ferro;

8. to load their kings with chains and their nobles with iron fetters,

9. para executar contra eles a sentença determinada: tal é a gloria reservada a todos os seus santos. Aleluia.

9. to execute on them the judgement passed -- to the honour of all his faithful.
