1. Aleluia. Quando Israel saiu do Egipto, a casa de Jacob do meio dum povo bárbaro,

1. Alleluia! Praise, servants of Yahweh, praise the name of Yahweh.

2. Judá tornou-se o seu santuário, Israel o seu reino.

2. Blessed be the name of Yahweh, henceforth and for ever.

3. O mar viu e fugiu, o Jordão voltou para trás.

3. From the rising of the sun to its setting, praised be the name of Yahweh!

4. Os montes saltaram de alegria como carneiros, as colinas como cordeiros. (ver nota)

4. Supreme over all nations is Yahweh, supreme over the heavens his glory.

5. Que tens tu, ó mar, para fugir? E tu, Jordão para retroceder?

5. Who is like Yahweh our God? His throne is set on high,

6. Vós, ó montes, por que saltais de alegria como carneiros? E vós, colinas, como cordeiros?

6. but he stoops to look down on heaven and earth.

7. Treme, ó terra, diante da face do Senhor, diante da face do Deus de Jacob,

7. He raises the poor from the dust, he lifts the needy from the dunghill,

8. que converte a rocha em um lago de águas, a penha (árida) em fonte de águas.

8. to give them a place among princes, among princes of his people.

9. Não a nós. Senhor, não a nós mas ao teu nome da (toda) a gloria, por tua misericórdia e por tua fidelidade. (115,1)
