Salmos, 137

1. Al borde de los canales de Babilonia nos sentábamos, y llorábamos

1. By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.

2. al acordarnos de Sión; en los sauces que por allí se encuentran habíamos colgado nuestras arpas.

2. We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.

3. Allí los que nos habían deportado nos pedían palabras de una canción y nuestros raptores, un canto de alegría: "¡Cántennos un canto de Sión!"

3. For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us [required of us] mirth, [saying], Sing us [one] of the songs of Zion.

4. ¿Cómo íbamos a cantar un canto del Señor en un suelo extranjero?

4. How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a strange land?

5. ¡Si me olvido de ti, Jerusalén, que mi derecha se olvide de mí!

5. If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget [her cunning].

6. Que mi lengua se pegue al paladar si de ti no me acuerdo, si no considero a Jerusalén como mi máxima alegría.

6. If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

7. No te olvides, Señor, de los hijos de Edom que, el día en que cayó Jerusalén, decían: "¡Arrásenla, arrásenla hasta los mismos cimientos!"

7. Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase [it], rase [it, even] to the foundation thereof.

8. Hija de Babilonia, que serás destruida, dichoso el que te hiciere los males que a nosotros nos hiciste.

8. O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy [shall he be], that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.

9. ¡Dichoso aquel que agarre a tus pequeños y los estrelle contra las rocas!

9. Happy [shall he be], that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
