Salmos, 71

1. En ti, Señor, confío, que no me decepcione.

1. In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

2. En tu justicia tú querrás defenderme, inclina a mí tu oído y sálvame.

2. Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.

3. Sé para mí una roca de refugio, una ciudad fortificada en que me salve, pues tú eres mi roca, mi fortaleza.

3. Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou [art] my rock and my fortress.

4. Líbrame, oh Dios, de la mano del impío, de las garras del malvado y del violento,

4. Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.

5. pues tú eres, Señor, mi esperanza, y en ti he confiado desde mi juventud.

5. For thou [art] my hope, O Lord GOD: [thou art] my trust from my youth.

6. En ti me apoyé desde mis primeros pasos, tú me atrajiste desde el seno de mi madre, y para ti va siempre mi alabanza.

6. By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise [shall be] continually of thee.

7. Pero ahora para muchos soy un escándalo, y sólo me quedas tú, mi amparo seguro.

7. I am as a wonder unto many; but thou [art] my strong refuge.

8. Llena de tu alabanza está mi boca, de tu esplendor, el día entero.

8. Let my mouth be filled [with] thy praise [and with] thy honour all the day.

9. No me despidas ahora que soy viejo, no te alejes cuando mis fuerzas me abandonan.

9. Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.

10. Pues mis enemigos hablan contra mí y los que esperan mi muerte hacen sus planes.

10. For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,

11. Dicen: "Dios lo ha abandonado; persíganlo y agárrenlo, nadie lo ayudará".

11. Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for [there is] none to deliver [him].

12. Oh Dios, no te alejes de mí, Dios mío, ven pronto a socorrerme.

12. O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.

13. Que queden humillados, cubiertos de vergüenza, los que me ponen asechanzas. Que el insulto y la infamia los envuelvan a los que quieren mi desgracia.

13. Let them be confounded [and] consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered [with] reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.

14. Yo entonces, siempre en ti esperaré, y te alabaré como no se ha hecho nunca.

14. But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.

15. Mi boca contará tus obras justas y tu salvación a lo largo del día, pues son más de lo que podría decir.

15. My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness [and] thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers [thereof].

16. Ahondaré las hazañas del Señor, recordaré tu justicia que es sólo tuya.

16. I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, [even] of thine only.

17. Oh Dios, me has enseñado desde joven, y hasta ahora anuncié tus maravillas;

17. O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.

18. si ahora estoy viejo y decrépito, oh Dios, no me abandones. A esta generación anunciaré tu poder, y a los que vengan después, tu valentía

18. Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto [this] generation, [and] thy power to every one [that] is to come.

19. y tu justicia, oh Dios, que llega al cielo. Pues, ¿quién como tú, oh Dios, que has hecho grandes cosas?

19. Thy righteousness also, O God, [is] very high, who hast done great things: O God, who [is] like unto thee!

20. Tú que me hiciste pasar tantas penas y miserias, volverás para hacerme revivir, y me harás subir de nuevo del abismo.

20. [Thou], which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

21. Volverás a ponerme de pie y tendré de nuevo tu consuelo.

21. Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.

22. Entonces te daré gracias al son del arpa por tu fidelidad, oh Dios. Con la cítara te entonaré salmos, oh Santo de Israel.

22. I will also praise thee with the psaltery, [even] thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.

23. Te aclamarán mis labios y mi alma que tú redimiste.

23. My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.

24. Tarareará mi lengua todo el día: "Es cierto que él es justo, pues están confundidos y humillados los que querían mi desgracia".

24. My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.
