Salmos, 106

1. ¡Aleluya! Den gracias al Señor porque él es bueno, porque su amor perdura para siempre.

1. Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for [he is] good: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.

2. ¿Quién contará las hazañas del Señor y hará que oigamos toda su alabanza?

2. Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? [who] can shew forth all his praise?

3. ¡Felices los que respetan el derecho y practican la justicia en todo tiempo!

3. Blessed [are] they that keep judgment, [and] he that doeth righteousness at all times.

4. Acuérdate de mí, Señor, tú que amas a tu pueblo, que tu visita traiga tu salvación.

4. Remember me, O LORD, with the favour [that thou bearest unto] thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;

5. ¡Que veamos la dicha de tus elegidos, nos alegremos con el gozo de tu pueblo y nuestro orgullo sea él de tu familia!

5. That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.

6. Junto con nuestros padres hemos pecado, cometimos una falta, somos culpables.

6. We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.

7. Nuestros padres en Egipto no entendieron nada de tus milagros, se olvidaron de tus favores sin cuento, se rebelaron contra el Altísimo junto al Mar Rojo.

7. Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked [him] at the sea, [even] at the Red sea.

8. Pero en virtud de su nombre los salvó, para que su valentía fuera conocida.

8. Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

9. Increpó al Mar Rojo y se secó, los condujo por el fondo como en el desierto.

9. He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.

10. Los salvó de manos del que los odiaba y los libró de manos del enemigo.

10. And he saved them from the hand of him that hated [them], and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

11. Las aguas cubrieron a sus adversarios ni uno solo de entre ellos escapó.

11. And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.

12. Entonces creyeron en sus palabras y cantaron su alabanza-

12. Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.

13. Pero pronto se olvidaron de sus obras y no contaron con su providencia.

13. They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:

14. Se despertó su gula en el desierto y en la estepa pusieron a Dios a prueba.

14. But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.

15. El les concedió lo que pedían, se lo dio hasta que tuvieran asco.

15. And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.

16. Envidiaron a Moisés, en el campamento, y a Aarón, el santo del Señor.

16. They envied Moses also in the camp, [and] Aaron the saint of the LORD.

17. Se abrió la tierra y se tragó a Datán, se cerró sobre la banda de Abirón.

17. The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.

18. Un fuego se encendió contra su grupo, una llama devoró a esos malvados.

18. And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.

19. Luego, en Horeb se hicieron un ternero y se postraron ante un metal fundido,

19. They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.

20. cambiaron su Gloria por la imagen de un buey que come pasto.

20. Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.

21. ¡Se olvidaron de Dios que los había salvado, del que hizo grandes cosas en Egipto,

21. They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;

22. milagros en el país de Cam, y un prodigio asombroso en el Mar Rojo!

22. Wondrous works in the land of Ham, [and] terrible things by the Red sea.

23. Entonces habló de exterminarlos, a no ser porque su elegido Moisés se puso en la brecha frente a El para impedir que su ira los destruyera.

23. Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy [them].

24. Despreciaron una tierra de delicias, no creyeron en su palabra;

24. Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:

25. se quedaron en sus tiendas criticando en vez de escuchar la voz del Señor.

25. But murmured in their tents, [and] hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.

26. Alzó su mano sobre ellos y juró que los haría caer en el desierto,

26. Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:

27. dispersaría su raza entre los paganos y los esparciría entre los países.

27. To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.

28. Se sometieron a Baal-Peor, comieron de los sacrificios a los muertos;

28. They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.

29. tanto lo irritaron con esas prácticas que una plaga se desató contra ellos.

29. Thus they provoked [him] to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.

30. Entonces surgió Finjás e intervino y el flagelo se detuvo.

30. Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and [so] the plague was stayed.

31. Ese fue su mérito, se lo reconoce por generaciones, para siempre.

31. And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.

32. Lo irritaron en las aguas de Meriba, por su culpa le fue mal a Moisés,

32. They angered [him] also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:

33. pues agriaron su espíritu y sus labios hablaron lo indebido.

33. Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

34. No acabaron con los pueblos que el Señor les había ordenado;

34. They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:

35. se mezclaron con los paganos y aprendieron sus modos de comportarse.

35. But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.

36. Sirvieron a los ídolos, que fueron una trampa para ellos;

36. And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.

37. sacrificaron sus hijos y sus hijas a los demonios

37. Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,

38. Derramaron la sangre inocente, la sangre de sus hijos y de sus hijas, sacrificados a los ídolos de Canaán, y el país quedó manchado de sangre.

38. And shed innocent blood, [even] the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.

39. Se mancharon con esas acciones, se prostituyeron con tales prácticas.

39. Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.

40. La cólera del Señor se encendió contra su pueblo y tuvo horror de su propia gente.

40. Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.

41. Los entregó en manos de los paganos y los que los odiaban los dominaron.

41. And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.

42. Los oprimieron sus enemigos, a su yugo debieron doblegarse.

42. Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

43. ¡Cuántas veces no los liberó! Pero ellos, rebeldes a sus consejos, se sumían en su culpa.

43. Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked [him] with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.

44. Mas apenas los veía en la miseria y escuchaba sus clamores,

44. Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:

45. se acordaba de su alianza con ellos y se compadecía según su gran amor.

45. And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

46. Así hizo que de ellos se apiadaran todos los que los habían capturado.

46. He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.

47. Oh Señor y Dios nuestro, sálvanos, júntanos de entre las naciones, para que demos gracias a tu santo nombre y sea nuestra gloria tu alabanza.

47. Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, [and] to triumph in thy praise.

48. ¡Bendito sea el Señor, Dios de Israel, desde siempre y para siempre! Que todo el pueblo diga: ¡Amén, Aleluya!

48. Blessed [be] the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.
