Salmos, 73

1. "Dios se porta muy bien con Israel con los que tienen puro el corazón".

1. <A Psalm of Asaph.> Truly God [is] good to Israel, [even] to such as are of a clean heart.

2. Pero yo, por poco mi pie no tropieza y mis pasos casi se resbalan;

2. But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

3. yo sentía envidia de los malos, viendo lo bien que le va a los impíos.

3. For I was envious at the foolish, [when] I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4. Para ellos no existe el sufrimiento, su cuerpo está gordo y lleno de salud.

4. For [there are] no bands in their death: but their strength [is] firm.

5. No comparten las penurias de los hombres ni les tocan pruebas como a los demás.

5. They [are] not in trouble [as other] men; neither are they plagued like [other] men.

6. Por eso como un collar lucen su orgullo, por ropa llevan puesta la violencia,

6. Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them [as] a garment.

7. transpiran por sus poros la maldad, su corazón desborda de planes ambiciosos.

7. Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.

8. Se burlan mientras traman sus maldades, con soberbia profieren amenazas;

8. They are corrupt, and speak wickedly [concerning] oppression: they speak loftily.

9. hablan como dueños del cielo y con su lengua brincan sobre el país.

9. They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

10. Por eso mi pueblo va tras ellos, porque en ellos sólo brilla el éxito;

10. Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full [cup] are wrung out to them.

11. y dicen: "¿Dios lo verá? ¿tendrá de esto una idea el Altísimo?

11. And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?

12. Miren, pues, cómo son los impíos y sin problemas amasan sus fortunas.

12. Behold, these [are] the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase [in] riches.

13. ¿De qué me sirve tener un corazón puro y mantener mis manos inocentes,

13. Verily I have cleansed my heart [in] vain, and washed my hands in innocency.

14. cuando todos los días me apalean y no hay mañana en que no me castiguen?"

14. For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

15. Si hubiera dicho: "Voy a hablar como ellos", habría traicionado la raza de tus hijos.

15. If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend [against] the generation of thy children.

16. Traté, pues, de poderlo comprender, pero era para mí cosa difícil.

16. When I thought to know this, it [was] too painful for me;

17. Pero un día penetré en los secretos de Dios, y me di cuenta de cuál será su fin.

17. Until I went into the sanctuary of God; [then] understood I their end.

18. Pues los pones en un lugar resbaladizo y luego los empujas al abismo.

18. Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.

19. ¿Cómo? ¿están en la ruina en un momento? Ya no están, trágico fue su fin.

19. How are they [brought] into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.

20. Señor, como de un sueño al despertar, te levantas y disipas su imagen.

20. As a dream when [one] awaketh; [so], O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.

21. Cuando se exasperó mi corazón y punzadas sentía en mis entrañas,

21. Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.

22. era estupidez, no cordura y no comprendía más que las bestias.

22. So foolish [was] I, and ignorant: I was [as] a beast before thee.

23. ¿No estado yo contigo todo el tiempo? Me tomaste de mi mano derecha,

23. Nevertheless I [am] continually with thee: thou hast holden [me] by my right hand.

24. me guías conforme a tus designios y me llevas de la mano tras de ti.

24. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me [to] glory.

25. ¿A quién tengo en los cielos sino a ti? y fuera de ti nada más quiero en la tierra.

25. Whom have I in heaven [but thee]? and [there is] none upon earth [that] I desire beside thee.

26. Mi carne y mi corazón se consumen por ti, mi Roca, mi Dios, que es mío para siempre.

26. My flesh and my heart faileth: [but] God [is] the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

27. Los que se alejan de ti se pierden, tú aniquilas a los que te son infieles.

27. For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.

28. Para mí lo mejor es estar junto a Dios, he puesto mi refugio en el Señor; proclamaré tus obras en las puertas de Sión.

28. But [it is] good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
