Salmos, 104

1. ¡Bendice al Señor, alma mía! ¡Eres muy grande, oh Señor, mi Dios, vestido de gloria y majestad,

1. Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.

2. envuelto de luz como de un manto. Tú despliegas los cielos como un toldo,

2. Who coverest [thyself] with light as [with] a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:

3. construyes sobre las aguas tu piso alto. Tú haces tu carro de las nubes y avanzas en alas de los vientos.

3. Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:

4. Tomas de mensajeros a los vientos y como servidores un fuego en llamas.

4. Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:

5. Pusiste la tierra sobre sus bases, por siempre jamás es inamovible.

5. [Who] laid the foundations of the earth, [that] it should not be removed for ever.

6. La cubres con el manto de los océanos, las aguas se han detenido en las montañas.

6. Thou coveredst it with the deep as [with] a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

7. Ante tu amenaza emprenden la fuga, se precipitan a la voz de tu trueno;

7. At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.

8. suben los montes, bajan por los valles hasta el lugar que tú les señalaste;

8. They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.

9. pusiste un límite que no franquearán, para que no vuelvan a cubrir la tierra.

9. Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

10. Haces brotar vertientes en las quebradas, que corren por en medio de los montes,

10. He sendeth the springs into the valleys, [which] run among the hills.

11. calman la sed de todos los animales; allí extinguen su sed los burros salvajes.

11. They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.

12. Aves del cielo moran cerca de ellas, entremedio del follaje alzan sus trinos.

12. By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, [which] sing among the branches.

13. De lo alto de tus moradas riegas los montes, sacias la tierra del fruto de tus obras;

13. He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.

14. haces brotar el pasto para el ganado y las plantas que el hombre ha de cultivar, para que de la tierra saque el pan

14. He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

15. y el vino que alegra el corazón del hombre. El aceite le dará brillo a su rostro y el pan fortificará su corazón.

15. And wine [that] maketh glad the heart of man, [and] oil to make [his] face to shine, and bread [which] strengtheneth man's heart.

16. Los árboles del Señor están colmados, los cedros del Líbano que plantó.

16. The trees of the LORD are full [of sap]; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;

17. Allí hacen sus nidos los pajaritos, en su copa tiene su casa la cigüeña;

17. Where the birds make their nests: [as for] the stork, the fir trees [are] her house.

18. para las cabras son los altos montes, las rocas son escondrijo de los conejos.

18. The high hills [are] a refuge for the wild goats; [and] the rocks for the conies.

19. Pusiste la luna para el calendario y el sol que sabe a qué hora ha de ponerse.

19. He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

20. Tú traes las tinieblas y es de noche, en que rodan todas las fieras de la selva;

20. Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep [forth].

21. rugen los leoncitos por su presa reclamando a Dios su alimento.

21. The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.

22. Cuando el sol aparece, se retiran y vuelven a acostarse en sus guaridas;

22. The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.

23. el hombre entonces sale a su trabajo, a su labor, hasta que entre la noche.

23. Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.

24. ¡Señor, qué numerosas son tus obras! Todas las has hecho con sabiduría, de tus criaturas la tierra está repleta!

24. O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

25. Mira el gran mar, vasto en todo sentido, allí bullen en número incontable pequeños y grandes animales;

25. [So is] this great and wide sea, wherein [are] things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.

26. por allí circulan los navíos y Leviatán que hiciste para entretenerte.

26. There go the ships: [there is] that leviathan, [whom] thou hast made to play therein.

27. Todas esas criaturas de ti esperan que les des a su tiempo el alimento;

27. These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give [them] their meat in due season.

28. apenas se lo das, ellos lo toman, abres tu mano, y sacian su apetito.

28. [That] thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.

29. Si escondes tu cara, quedan anonadados, recoges su espíritu, expiran y retornan a su polvo.

29. Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

30. Si envías tu espíritu, son creados y así renuevas la faz de la tierra.

30. Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

31. ¡Que la gloria del Señor dure por siempre y en sus obras el Señor se regocije!

31. The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.

32. él, que mira a la tierra y ésta tiembla, y si toca a los montes, echan humo.

32. He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.

33. Al Señor quiero cantar toda mi vida, salmodiar para mi Dios mientras yo exista.

33. I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

34. Ojalá que le agrade mi poema, yo, como sea, me alegro en el Señor.

34. My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.

35. ¡Desaparezcan de la tierra los pecadores y que no existan más los malvados! ¡Alma mía, bendice al Señor!

35. Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.
