Psalms, 41

1. For the leader. A psalm of David.

2. Happy those concerned for the lowly and poor; when misfortune strikes, the LORD delivers them.

3. The LORD keeps and preserves them, makes them happy in the land, and does not betray them to their enemies.

4. The LORD sustains them on their sickbed, allays the malady when they are ill.

5. Once I prayed, "LORD, have mercy on me; heal me, I have sinned against you.

6. My enemies say the worst of me: 'When will that one die and be forgotten?'

7. When people come to visit me, they speak without sincerity. Their hearts store up malice; they leave and spread their vicious lies.

8. My foes all whisper against me; they imagine the worst about me:

9. I have a deadly disease, they say; I will never rise from my sickbed.

10. Even the friend who had my trust, who shared my table, has scorned me.

11. But you, LORD, have mercy and raise me up that I may repay them as they deserve."

12. By this I know you are pleased with me, that my enemy no longer jeers at me.

13. For my integrity you have supported me and let me stand in your presence forever.

14. Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from all eternity and forever. Amen. Amen.

Proverbs 19:23: "The fear of the Lord leads to life; he who fears him can rest calmly, free from any evil." This verse speaks of the importance of fearing God to have a full and quiet life, trusting that He is able to protect from all evil.

Psalm 27:1: "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom will I fear? Is the Lord the bulwark of my life; whom will I be afraid of?" In this verse, David recognizes that his protection comes from the Lord and there is no reason to fear.

Psalm 147:3: "He heals those with a broken heart and takes care of his wounds." This verse speaks of God's ability to heal his children's emotional and physical pain.

Isaiah 41:10: "Do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not bear, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will hold you with my victorious right hand." This verse emphasizes divine protection and care for those who trust in Him.

2 Corinthians 12:9: "But he said to me, 'My grace is enough for you, for my power is perfect in weakness." Therefore, I will gloring myself even more happily in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest in me." This verse speaks of God's grace that is sufficient to sustain us in our weaknesses and difficulties, just as David seeks God's strength and healing in his physical and emotional weakness.
