Oseas, 6

1. «Vengan, volvamos a Yavé; pues si él nos lesionó, él nos sanará; si él nos hirió, él vendará nuestras heridas.

1. Come, let us return to Yahweh. He who shattered us to pieces, will heal us as well; he has struck us down, but he will bind up our wounds.

2. Dentro de poco nos dará la vida, al tercer día nos levantará y viviremos en su presencia.

2. Two days later he will bring us back to life; on the third day, he will raise us up, and we shall live in his presence.

3. Empeñémonos en conocer a Yavé. Su venida es tan cierta como la de la aurora, y su intervención, tan repentina como la llegada del día. Llegará como la lluvia, como el aguacero que riega la tierra.

3. Let us strive to know Yahweh. His coming is as certain as the dawn;

4. «¿Qué he de hacer contigo, Efraím? ¿Cómo he de tratarte, Judá? El cariño que me tienen es como una nube matinal, como el rocío que sólo dura algunas horas.

4. O Ephraim, what shall I do with you? O Judah, how shall I deal with you? This love of yours is like morning mist, like morning dew that quickly disappears.

5. Por eso les envié profetas para desarraigarlos, y de mi propia boca salió su sentencia de muerte.

5. c his judgment will burst forth like the light; he will come to us as showers come, like spring rain that waters the earth.

5. Porque me gusta más el amor que los sacrificios, y el conocimiento de Dios, más que víctimas consumidas por el fuego.»

5. This is why I smote you through the prophets, and have slain you by the words of my mouth.

6. Pero ellos no cumplieron mi alianza en Adam, pues allí me traicionaron.

6. For it is love that I desire, not sacrifice; it is knowledge of God, not burnt offerings.

7. Galaad, ciudad de malhechores, está llena de huellas de sangre.

7. At Adam they broke my covenant; there they were unfaithful to me.

8. Como una banda de salteadores, los sacerdotes se juntan para asaltar a los que pasan por el camino de Siquem: lo que hacen es una vergüenza.

8. Gilead is a city of evildoers, stained with footprints of blood.

9. He visto una cosa horrible en Betel; pues allá Efraím se prostituye, Israel se deshonra.

9. Like thieves in an ambush, so are the priests; they murder on the road to Shechem and commit adultery.

10. (A ti, Judá, te espera una buena cosecha cuando traiga de vuelta a los desterrados de mi pueblo y sane a Israel).

10. In Bethel I saw their disgraceful conduct; that is where Ephraim played the harlot and was defiled.

11. (For you, too, Judah, I have a harvest stored when I bring back my captive people and heal Israel.)
