Oseas, 14

1. Samaria recibirá su castigo por haberse rebelado contra Yavé: sus habitantes serán acuchillados, sus niños serán pisoteados y les abrirán el vientre a sus mujeres embarazadas.

1. Samaria is guilty for she rebelled against her God. They will fall by the sword, their little ones will be crushed and women with child ripped open.

2. Vuelve, Israel, junto a Yavé, tu Dios, pues tus faltas te hicieron tropezar.

2. Return to your God Yahweh, O Israel! Your sins have caused your downfall.

3. Preparen sus palabras y vuelvan a Yavé para decirle: «¡Quita el pecado y acepta lo bueno, que esta confesión nuestra reemplace cualquier ofrenda!

3. Return to Yahweh with humble words. Say to him, "Oh you who show compassion to the fatherless forgive our debt, be appeased. Instead of bulls and sacrifices, accept the praise from our lips.

4. Asiria no nos salvará, ni confiaremos más en los caballos, ni a la estatua que hicieron nuestras manos volveremos a decirle Dios nuestro;en ti sólo encuentra compasión el huérfano.»

4. Assyria will not save us: no longer shall we look for horses nor ever again shall we say 'Our gods' to the work of our hands."

5. - Yo sanaré su infidelidad, los amaré con todo el corazón pues ya no estoy enojado con ellos.

5. I will heal their wavering and love them with all my heart for my anger has turned from them.

6. Yo seré para Israel como el rocío; florecerá como una azucena y extenderá sus raíces como el árbol del Líbano.

6. I shall be like dew to Israel like the lily will he blossom. Like a cedar he will send down his roots;

7. Sus retoños brotarán por todas partes, tendrá como el olivo mucha prestancia y será su perfume como el del Líbano.

7. his young shoots will grow and spread. His splendor will be like an olive tree, his fragrance, like a Lebanon cedar.

8. Volverán a sentarse bajo mi sombra; serán vigorosos como el trigo, y les brotarán flores como a la vid; serán tan renombrados como los vinos del Líbano.

8. They will dwell in my shade again, they will flourish like the grain, they will blossom like a vine, and their fame will be like Lebanon wine.

9. Efraím, ¿qué tienes ya que ver con los ídolos? Yo te miro y aguardo tu respuesta, yo que soy como un ciprés siempre verde: si tienes frutos, esto te viene de mí.

9. What would Ephraim do with idols, when it is I who hear and make him prosper? I am like an ever-green cypress tree; all your fruitfulness comes from me.

10. Si alguien es sabio,que comprenda estas palabras,y si es inteligente, que las entienda.Pues los caminos del Señor son derechosy por ellos caminan los buenos,mientras que los malos en ellos tropiezan.

10. Who is wise enough to grasp all this? Who is discerning and will understand? Straight are the ways of Yahweh: the just walk in them, but the sinners stumble.
