Salmi, 1

1. Beato l'uomo che non camminò nel consiglio degli empi e nella via dei peccatori non si fermò e nel consesso dei beffardi non s'assise;

1. Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;

2. ma nella legge del Signore è la sua gioia e in essa medita giorno e notte.

2. but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.

3. Perciò sarà come un albero che su rivi d'acqua è piantato, che dà i suoi frutti ad ogni stagione, le cui foglie mai appassiscono: in ogni cosa che fa ha sempre successo.

3. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.

4. Non così gli empi: essi al contrario saranno come pula che il vento sospinge.

4. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff which the wind drives away.

5. Per questo non entreranno gli empi nel giudizio, né i peccatori nell'assemblea dei giusti,

5. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;

6. Il Signore conosce la via dei giusti. mentre la via degli empi andrà in rovina.

6. for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
