Psalms, 57

1. Unto the end, destroy not, for David, for an inscription of a title.

1. Al maestro di coro. "Non distruggere". Di Davide. Miktam. Quando fuggì dalla presenza di Saul, nella caverna.

2. If in very deed you speak justice: judge right things, ye sons of men.

2. Abbi pietà di me, o Dio, abbi pietà, poiché in te si rifugia l'anima mia, all'ombra delle tue ali io attendo finché non sia passata la calamità.

3. For in your heart you work iniquity: your hands forge injustice in the earth.

3. Invocherò il Dio Altissimo, Dio, il Giudice eccelso.

4. The wicked are alienated from the womb; they have gone astray from the womb: they have spoken false things.

4. Mandi dal cielo a salvarmi, colpisca quelli che insidiano l'anima mia. Mandi Dio la sua misericordia e la sua fedeltà.

5. Their madness is according to the likeness of a serpent: like the deaf asp that stoppeth her ears:

5. In mezzo a leoni devo riposare che cercano di divorare i figli degli uomini, i cui denti sono lancia e dardi, la cui lingua è spada affilata.

6. Which will not hear the voice of the charmers; nor of the wizard that charmeth wisely.

6. Sii esaltato fino al cielo, o Dio, su tutta la terra s'estenda la tua gloria.

7. God shall break in pieces their teeth in their mouth: the Lord shall break the grinders of the lions.

7. Una rete hanno posto davanti ai miei piedi, hanno umiliato l'anima mia, hanno scavato davanti a me una fossa, ma sono caduti in essa.

8. They shall come to nothing, like water running down; he hath bent his bow till they be weakened.

8. Pronto è il mio cuore, o Dio, pronto è il mio cuore all'inno e al canto.

9. Like wax that melteth they shall be taken away: fire hath fallen on them, and they shall not see the sun.

9. Déstati, anima mia, destatevi, arpa e cetra: perché possa destar l'aurora.

10. Before your thorns could know the brier; he swalloweth them up, as alive, in his wrath.

10. Ti celebrerò fra i popoli, o Dio, e inneggerò a te fra le nazioni,

11. The just shall rejoice when he shall see the revenge: he shall wash his hands in the blood of the sinner.

11. poiché grande fino al cielo, o Dio, è la tua misericordia, e fino agli eterei spazi la tua fedeltà.

12. And man shall say: If indeed there be fruit to the just: there is indeed a God that judgeth them on the earth.

12. Sii esaltato fino al cielo, o Dio, su tutta la terra s'estenda la tua gloria.
