Psalms, 14

1. A psalm of David. Lord, who shall dwell in thy tabernacle? or who shall rest in thy holy hill?

1. Al maestro di coro. Di Davide. Dice lo stolto nel suo cuore: "Non c'è Dio". Pervertono, corrompono la loro condotta; non c'è chi faccia il bene.

2. He that walketh without blemish, and worketh justice:

2. Il Signore dai cieli protende lo sguardo sopra i figli degli uomini per vedere se c'è chi intenda, chi ricerchi Dio.

3. He that speaketh truth in his heart, who hath not used deceit in his tongue: Nor hath done evil to his neighbour: nor taken up a reproach against his neighbours.

3. Tutti hanno deviato, insieme si sono corrotti: non c'è chi faccia il bene, non c'è neppure uno!

4. In his sight the malignant is brought to nothing: but he glorifieth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his neighbour, and deceiveth not;

4. Non metteranno giudizio tutti gli operatori d'iniquità, che divorano il suo popolo come se mangiassero pane? Non hanno invocato il Signore,

5. he that hath not put out his money to usury, nor taken bribes against the innocent: He that doth these things shall not be moved for ever.

5. ed ecco li ha presi un grande spavento, poiché Dio sta con la generazione dei giusti.

6. Voi confondete il piano dell'afflitto, ma il Signore è il suo rifugio.

7. Oh, venga da Sion la salvezza d'Israele! Quando il Signore restaurerà la sorte del suo popolo, esulti Giacobbe, s'allieti Israele.
