Psalms, 115

1. I have believed, therefore have I spoken; but I have been humbled exceedingly.

1. Non a noi, Signore, non a noi, ma al tuo nome da' gloria: a motivo della tua misericordia, in ragione della tua fedeltà.

2. Perché dovrebbero dire le genti: "Dov'è il loro Dio?".

3. Il nostro Dio sta nei cieli; egli ha fatto tutto ciò che ha voluto.

4. I loro idoli sono argento e oro, opera delle loro mani.

5.

5. Hanno bocca e non parlano, hanno occhi e non vedono.

6.

6. Hanno orecchi e non odono, hanno narici e non odorano.

7.

7. Hanno mani e non palpano, hanno piedi e non camminano, non emettono suoni dalla loro bocca.

8.

8. Siano come loro quelli che li fabbricano, e chiunque in essi confida.

9.

9. Confida nel Signore, casa d'Israele: egli è loro aiuto e loro scudo

10.

10. Confida nel Signore, casa di Aronne: egli è loro aiuto e loro scudo.

11. I said in my excess: Every man is a liar.

11. Confidate nel Signore, voi che lo temete: egli è loro aiuto e loro scudo.

12. What shall I render to the Lord, for all the things he hath rendered unto me?

13. I will take the chalice of salvation; and I will call upon the name of the Lord.

14. I will pay my vows to the Lord before all his people:

14. Vi moltiplichi il Signore, voi e i vostri figli.

15. precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

15. Siate benedetti dal Signore: egli ha fatto cieli e terra.

16. O Lord, for I am thy servant: I am thy servant, and the son of thy handmaid. Thou hast broken my bonds:

16. I cieli sono cieli del Signore, ma la terra, l'ha data ai figli dell'uomo.

17. I will sacrifice to thee the sacrifice of praise, and I will call upon the name of the Lord.

17. Non i morti lodano il Signore, né coloro che scendono nel silenzio;

18. I will pay my vows to the Lord in the sight of all his people:

18. ma noi benediciamo il Signore, ora e sempre! Alleluia.
