Psalms, 123

1. If it had not been that the Lord was with us, let Israel now say:

1. Canto delle ascensioni. Sollevo gli occhi verso di te che abiti nei cieli.

2. If it had not been that the Lord was with us, When men rose up against us

2. Ecco: come gli occhi dei servi sono rivolti verso i loro padroni, come gli occhi di una serva verso la sua padrona, così i nostri occhi sono rivolti al Signore, nostro Dio, finché egli si muova a pietà di noi.

3. perhaps they had swallowed us up alive. When their fury was enkindled against us,

4. Troppo sazia è la nostra anima degli scherni dei gaudenti, del disprezzo degl'insolenti.

7. Our soul hath been delivered as a sparrow out of the snare of the followers. The snare is broken, and we are delivered.
