Ezekiel, 6

1. And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

1. La parole de l`Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

2. “Son of man, set your face toward the mountains of Israel, and you shall prophesy against them,

2. Fils de l`homme, tourne ta face vers les montagnes d`Israël, Et prophétise contre elles!

3. and you shall say: O mountains of Israel, listen to the word of the Lord God! Thus says the Lord God to the mountains and hills and cliffs and valleys: Behold, I will lead over you the sword. And I will destroy your exalted places.

3. Tu diras: Montagnes d`Israël, Écoutez la parole du Seigneur, de l`Éternel! Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel, Aux montagnes et aux collines, aux ravins et aux vallées: Voici, je fais venir l`épée contre vous, Et je détruirai vos hauts lieux.

4. And I will demolish your altars. And your graven images will be broken apart. And I will throw down your slain before your idols.

4. Vos autels seront dévastés, Vos statues du soleil seront brisées, Et je ferai tomber vos morts devant vos idoles.

5. And I will lay the dead bodies of the sons of Israel before the face of your idols. And I will scatter your bones around your altars.

5. Je mettrai les cadavres des enfants d`Israël devant leurs idoles, Et je disperserai vos ossements autour de vos autels.

6. In all of your habitations, the cities will be made desolate, and the exalted places will be torn down and scattered. And your altars will be broken and destroyed. And your idols will cease to exist. And your shrines will be crushed. And your works will be wiped away.

6. Partout où vous habitez, vos villes seront ruinées, Et vos hauts lieux dévastés; Vos autels seront délaissés et abandonnés, Vos idoles seront brisées et disparaîtront, Vos statues du soleil seront abattues, Et vos ouvrages anéantis.

7. And the slain will fall in your midst. And you shall know that I am the Lord.

7. Les morts tomberont au milieu de vous, Et vous saurez que je suis l`Éternel.

8. And I will leave among you those who will escape the sword among the Gentiles, when I will have dispersed you upon the earth.

8. Mais je laisserai quelques restes d`entre vous, Qui échapperont à l`épée parmi les nations, Lorsque vous serez dispersés en divers pays.

9. And your liberated shall remember me among the nations to which they were led away as captives. For I have crushed their heart, which fornicated and withdrew from me, and their eyes, which fornicated after their idols. And they will be displeased with themselves over the evils that they have done by all their abominations.

9. Vos réchappés se souviendront de moi Parmi les nations où ils seront captifs, Parce que j`aurai brisé leur coeur adultère et infidèle, Et leurs yeux qui se sont prostitués après leurs idoles; Ils se prendront eux-mêmes en dégoût, A cause des infamies qu`ils ont commises, A cause de toutes leurs abominations.

10. And they shall know that I, the Lord, have not spoken in vain, that I would do this evil to them.”

10. Et ils sauront que je suis l`Éternel, Et que ce n`est pas en vain que je les ai menacés De leur envoyer tous ces maux.

11. Thus says the Lord God: “Strike with your hand, and stomp with your foot, and say: ‘Alas, to all the abominations of the evils of the house of Israel!’ For they will fall by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence.

11. Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel: Frappe de la main, frappe du pied, et dis: Hélas! Sur toutes les méchantes abominations de la maison d`Israël, Qui tombera par l`épée, par la famine et par la peste.

12. Whoever is far away will die of pestilence. But whoever is near will fall by the sword. And whoever remains and is besieged will die by famine. And I will fulfill my indignation among them.

12. Celui qui sera loin mourra de la peste, Celui qui sera près tombera par l`épée, Celui qui restera et sera assiégé périra par la famine. J`assouvirai ainsi ma fureur sur eux.

13. And you shall know that I am the Lord, when your slain will be in the midst of your idols, all around your altars, on every exalted hill, and on the summits of all the mountains, and under every dense tree, and under every leafy oak: the places where they burned sweet-smelling incense to all their idols.

13. Et vous saurez que je suis l`Éternel, Quand leurs morts seront au milieu de leurs idoles, Autour de leurs autels, Sur toute colline élevée, sur tous les sommets des montagnes, Sous tout arbre vert, sous tout chêne touffu, Là où ils offraient des parfums d`une agréable odeur A toutes leurs idoles.

14. And I will extend my hand over them. And I will make the earth desolate and destitute: from the desert of Riblah to all their dwelling places. And they shall know that I am the Lord.”

14. J`étendrai ma main contre eux, Et je rendrai le pays plus solitaire et plus désolé Que le désert de Dibla, Partout où ils habitent. Et ils sauront que je suis l`Éternel.

Versi relativi a Ezekiel, 6:

Ezekiel 6 deals with God's condemnation of the people of Israel because of their idolatry. The chapter announces God's judgment against the earth and the punishment that will come as a result of the people's rebellion and disobedience. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in Ezekiel 6:

Deuteronomy 12:2-3: "You will knock all the places where the nations they have to possess have served their gods, on the high mountains, and over the hills, and under the whole leafy tree; and you will break their altars, and break down ye shall his statues, and his woods will burning to fire; and will destroy the sculpted images of his gods; and shall give up his name from that place. " This verse speaks of God's command to destroy all places of worship and symbols of worship of pagan peoples in their new earth. This relates to Ezekiel 6, where God is condemning the people of Israel for their idolatry and worship of false gods.

Exodus 20:4-5: "Thou shalt not make the image of sculpture to you, no similarity of what is above in the heavens, or under the earth, nor in the waters under the earth. Thou shalt not go to them or serve them; I, the Lord your God, I am a jealous God, who visits the iniquity of parents in their children, until the third and fourth generation of those who hate me. " This verse is one of God's commandments to his people, forbidding the creation and worship of images and idols. He relates to Ezekiel 6, where God is condemning the people of Israel for their idolatry and worship of false gods.

2 Kings 17:16-17: "They left all the commandments of the Lord, their God, and made for themselves two melted metal calves. They worshiped the whole army of heaven and served Baal. They burned their children as an offering, practicing guessing And witchcraft, and they sold themselves to do what was evil in the eyes of the Lord, causing his wrath. " This verse describes the idolatry of the people of Israel and how they have moved away from God's commandments. This relates to Ezekiel 6, where God is condemning the people of Israel for their idolatry and worship of false gods.

1 Kings 18:21: "Then Elijah has come to all the people, and said, How long shall shall you be between two thoughts? If the Lord is God, follow him; and if Baal, follow him. . " This verse is part of the story of Elijah confronting Baal's prophets.
