Psaumes, 37

1. De David. ALEPH. Ne t'irrite pas au sujet des méchants; ne porte pas envie à ceux qui font le mal.

1. Of David. Do not be provoked by evildoers; do not envy those who do wrong.

2. Car, comme l'herbe, ils seront vite coupés ; comme la verdure du gazon, ils se dessècheront. BETH.

2. Like grass they wither quickly; like green plants they wilt away.

3. Mets ta confiance en Yahweh, et fais le bien ; habite le pays, et jouis de sa fidélité.

3. Trust in the LORD and do good that you may dwell in the land and live secure.

4. Fais de Yahweh tes délices, et il te donnera ce que ton coeur désire. GHIMEL.

4. Find your delight in the LORD who will give you your heart's desire.

5. Remets ton sort à Yahweh et confie-toi en lui : il agira :

5. Commit your way to the LORD; trust that God will act

6. il fera resplendir ta justice comme la lumière, et ton droit comme le soleil à son midi DALETH.

6. And make your integrity shine like the dawn, your vindication like noonday.

7. Tiens-toi en silence devant Yahweh, et espère en lui ; ne t'irrite pas au sujet de celui qui prospère dans ses voies; de l'homme qui réussit en ses intrigues. HE.

7. Be still before the LORD; wait for God. Do not be provoked by the prosperous, nor by malicious schemers.

8. Laisse la colère, abandonne la fureur ; ne t'irrite pas, pour n'aboutir qu'au mal.

8. Give up your anger, abandon your wrath; do not be provoked; it brings only harm.

9. Car les méchants seront retranchés, mais ceux qui espèrent en Yahweh posséderont le pays. VAV.

9. Those who do evil will be cut off, but those who wait for the LORD will possess the land.

10. Encore un peu de temps, et le méchant n'est plus; tu regardes sa place, et il a disparu.

10. Wait a little, and the wicked will be no more; look for them and they will not be there.

11. Mais les doux posséderont la terre, ils goûteront les délices d'une paix profonde. ZAÏN.

11. But the poor will possess the land, will delight in great prosperity.

12. Le méchant forme des projets contre le juste, il grince les dents contre lui.

12. The wicked plot against the just and grind their teeth at them;

13. Le Seigneur se rit du méchant, car il voit que son jour arrive. HETH.

13. But the LORD laughs at them, knowing their day is coming.

14. Les méchants tirent le glaive, ils bandent leur arc; pour abattre le malheureux et le pauvre, pour égorger ceux dont la voie est droite.

14. The wicked draw their swords; they string their bows To fell the poor and oppressed, to slaughter those whose way is honest.

15. Leur glaive entrera dans leur propre coeur, et leurs arcs se briseront. TETH.

15. Their swords will pierce their own hearts; their bows will be broken.

16. Mieux vaut le peu du juste, que l'abondance de nombreux méchants ;

16. Better the poverty of the just than the great wealth of the wicked.

17. car les bras des méchants seront brisés, et Yahweh soutient les justes. YOD.

17. The arms of the wicked will be broken; the LORD will sustain the just.

18. Yahweh connaît les jours des hommes intègres, et leur héritage dure à jamais.

18. The LORD watches over the days of the blameless; their heritage lasts forever.

19. Ils ne sont pas confondus au jour du malheur, et ils sont rassasiés aux jours de la famine. CAPH.

19. They will not be disgraced when times are hard; in days of famine they will have plenty.

20. Car les méchants périssent ; les ennemis de Yahweh sont comme la gloire des prairies ; ils s'évanouissent en fumée, ils s'évanouissent. LAMED.

20. The wicked perish, the enemies of the LORD; Like the beauty of meadows they vanish; like smoke they disappear.

21. Le méchant emprunte, et il ne rend pas ; Le juste est compatissant, et il donne.

21. The wicked borrow but do not repay; the just are generous in giving.

22. Car ceux que bénit Yahweh possèdent le pays, et ceux qu'il maudit sont retranchés. MEM.

22. For those blessed by the Lord will possess the land, but those accursed will be cut off.

23. Yahweh affermit les pas de l'homme Juste, et il prend plaisir à sa voie.

23. Those whose steps are guided by the LORD; whose way God approves,

24. S'il tomhe, il n'est pas étendu par terre, car Yahweh soutient sa main. NUN.

24. May stumble, but they will never fall, for the LORD holds their hand.

25. J'ai été jeune, me voilà vieux, et je n'ai point vu le juste abandonné; ni sa postérité mendiant son pain.

25. Neither in my youth, nor now in old age have I ever seen the just abandoned or their children begging bread.

26. Toujours il est compatissant, et il prête; et sa postérité est en bénédiction. SAMECH.

26. The just always lend generously, and their children become a blessing.

27. Détourne-toi du mal et fais le bien; et habite à jamais ta demeure.

27. Turn from evil and do good, that you may inhabit the land forever.

28. Car Yahweh aime la justice, et il n'abandonne pas ses fidèles. Ils sont toujours sous sa garde, mais la postérité des méchants sera retranchée.

28. For the LORD loves justice and does not abandon the faithful. When the unjust are destroyed, and the children of the wicked cut off,

29. Les justes posséderont le pays, et ils y habiteront à jamais. PHÉ.

29. The just will possess the land and live in it forever.

30. La bouche du juste annonce la sagesse, et sa langue proclame la justice.

30. The mouths of the just utter wisdom; their tongues speak what is right.

31. La loi de son Dieu est dans son coeur; ses pas ne chancellent point. TSADÉ. Le méchant épie le juste, et il cherche à le faire mourir. Yahweh ne 1'abandonne pas entre ses mains, et il ne le condamne pas quand vient son jugement. QOPH. Attends Yahweh et garde sa voie; et i1 t'élèvera et tu posséderas le pays ; quand les méchants seront retranchés, tu le verras. RESCH.

31. God's teaching is in their hearts; their steps do not falter.

32. The wicked spy on the just and seek to kill them.

33.

33. But the LORD does not leave the just in their power, nor let them be condemned when tried.

34.

34. Wait eagerly for the LORD, and keep to the way; God will raise you to possess the land; you will gloat when the wicked are cut off.

35. J'ai vu l'impie au comble de la puissance; il s'étendait comme un arbre verdoyant.

35. I have seen ruthless scoundrels, strong as flourishing cedars.

36. J'ai passé, et voici qu'il n'était plus ; je l'ai cherché, et on ne l'a plus trouvé. SCHlN.

36. When I passed by again, they were gone; though I searched, they could not be found.

37. Observe celui qui est intègre, et regarde celui qui est droit ; car il y a une postérité pour l'homme de paix.

37. Observe the honest, mark the upright; those at peace with God have a future.

38. Mais les rebelles seront tous anéantis, la postérité des méchants sera retranchée. THAV.

38. But all sinners will be destroyed; the future of the wicked will be cut off.

39. De Yahweh vient le salut des justes ; il est leur protecteur au temps de la détresse.

39. The salvation of the just is from the LORD, their refuge in time of distress.

40. Yahweh leur vient en aide et les délivre ; il les délivre des méchants et les sauve, parce qu'ils ont mis en lui leur confiance.$

40. The LORD helps and rescues them, rescues and saves them from the wicked, because in God they take refuge.
