1. El rey Nabucodonosor hizo una estatua de oro de treinta metros de alto por tres metros de ancho, y la colocó en el llano de Dura, en la provincia de Babilonia.
1. King Nebuchadnezzar had a golden statue, sixty cubits high and six cubits wide, erected on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon.
2. El rey Nabucodonosor mandó a los funcionarios, prefectos, gobernadores, consejeros, tesoreros, jueces y abogados de toda la provincia, para que se reunieran y asistieran a la inauguración de la estatua
2. Then he summoned the satraps, prefects, governors, counselors, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials to come for the dedication of the statue.
3. Se reunieron, pues, los funcionarios, prefectos, gobernadores, consejeros, tesoreros, abogados y jueces y todas las autoridades provinciales, para la dedicación de la estatua levantada por el rey Nabucodonosor
3. All those summoned came together for the dedication and stood before the statue set up by King Nebuchadnezzar.
4. Un mensajero proclamó con voz fuerte: «Hombres de toda raza, nación y lengua,
4. There a herald proclaimed aloud, "Nations and peoples of every language, you are hereby commanded
5. en el momento en que oigan la trompeta, la flauta, la cítara, la sambuca, el salterio, la zampoña y cualquier música, ustedes tendrán que postrarse y adorar la estatua de oro erigida por el rey Nabucodonosor.
5. to fall down and worship the golden statue as soon as you hear the music played on the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes and all other instruments.
6. Los que no se postren y la adoren, serán echados inmediatamente a un horno de fuego ardiente.
6. Whoever fails to do this will at once be thrown into a burning furnace."
7. Por eso, en cuanto se oyó la trompeta, la flauta, la cítara, la sambuca, el salterio, la zampoña y toda clase de música, los hombres de todos los pueblos, naciones y lenguas se postraron y adoraron la estatua de oro erigida por el rey Nabucodonosor.
7. At this command, all the people of every nation and language who heard the sound of music on the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes and other instruments fell down and worshiped the statue set up by King Nebuchadnezzar.
8. Algunos magos, sin embargo, fueron a denunciar a los judíos.
8. It was then that Chaldean diviners came to the king accusing the Jews.

11. and whoever failed to do so was to be thrown into a burning furnace.
12. Hay algunos judíos -Sidrac, Misac y Abdénagoa los que has encargado la administración de la provincia de Babilonia, y que no te han hecho caso; no sirven a tus dioses y no adoran la estatua de oro que has levantado.
12. There are some Jews, those whom you appointed administrators of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who gave no heed to your order. They would not serve your gods or worship the golden image you set up."
13. Enfurecido, Nabucodonosor mandó a llamar a Sidrac, Misac y Abdénago.
13. Nebuchadnezzar flew into a rage and summoned Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who were immediately brought before the king.
14. El les dijo: «¿Es verdad que ustedes no veneran a mis dioses y no adoran la estatua de oro que yo he levantado?
14. King Nebuchadnezzar questioned them, "Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the golden statue I have set up?
15. ¿Están dispuestos ahora, cuando oigan el son de la trompeta y demás instrumentos musicales, a postrarse y adorar la estatua que he fabricado? Si no, serán inmediatamente arrojados al horno ardiente. Y entonces, ¿qué Dios los podrá librar de mis manos?
15. If you hear now the sound of horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes and other instruments, will you fall down and worship the statue I made? If you won't, you know the punishment: you will immediately be thrown into a burning furnace. And then what god can deliver you out of my hands?"
16. Sidrac, Misac y Abdénago respondieron al rey. Le dijeron: «No necesitamos contestar sobre esto.
16. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego answered, "King Nebuchadnezzar, we need not defend ourselves before you on this matter.
17. Si nuestro Dios, a quien servimos, quiere librarnos, nos librará del horno y de tus manos.
17. If you order us to be thrown into the furnace, the God we serve will rescue us.
18. Si no lo hace, tienes que saber que de todas maneras no serviremos a tus dioses ni adoraremos tu estatua.»
18. But even if he won't, we would like you to know, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden statue you have set up."
19. Entonces el rey cambió de actitud con respecto a ellos y se enfureció. Ordenó que se calentara el horno siete veces más de lo corriente.
19. Nebuchadnezzar's face reddened with fury as he looked at Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual
20. Mandó hombres fuertes de su ejército a que los ataran y arrojaran al horno ardiente.
20. and commanded some of his strongest soldiers to bind Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and throw them into the burning furnace.
21. Y así fueron arrojados con sus ropas, mantos, pantalones y sombreros
21. At once they were bound and thrown into the furnace, with their hats, shoes and garments on,
22. Como la orden del rey era terminante y el horno estaba excesivamente encendido, la llamarada mató a los hombres que habían llevado a Sidrac, Misac y Abdénago,
22. for the king's order was very urgent. So fierce was the fire in the furnace that it devoured even the men who threw Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego into it.
23. y los tres cayeron, atados, en medio del horno de fuego ardiente.
23. The three, bound fast, fell into the midst of the blazing furnace.
24. Sin embargo, iban por entre las llamas alabando a Dios y bendiciendo al Señor.
24. They walked in the midst of the flames, singing to God and praising the Lord.
25. Y Azarías, de pie en medio del fuego, tomó la palabra y oró así
25. Azariah stood up in the midst of the fire and prayed aloud:
26. Bendito seas, Señor, Dios de nuestros padres qque tu Nombre sea alabado y glorificado eternamente
26. Blessed and worthy of praise are you, O Lord God of our fathers! your name is glorious forever!
27. Porque eres justo en todo lo que has hecho ttodas tus obras son verdaderas rrectos todos tus caminos yy verdaderos todos tus juicios
27. Justice is in all that you do; your acts are faultless, your ways are right, your judgments always true.
28. Has llevado a efecto una sentencia justa al traer el mal sobre nosotros y sobre Jerusalén, la Ciudad Santa de nuestros padres. Has obrado conforme a la verdad y la justicia, para castigo de nuestros pecados
28. You have indeed given a just sentence in bringing evil upon us and upon Jerusalem, the Holy City of our fathers. You have acted in accordance with truth and justice, as punishment for our sins.
29. Porque hemos pecado y obrado perversamente alejándonos de ti. Pecamos mucho en todo y no dimos oído a tus mandamientos.
29. For we have sinned and acted perversely by deserting you. We have sinned gravely in everything and have not listened to your commandments.
30. No los observamos y no cumplimos lo que nos mandabas para nuestro bien
30. We have not observed them, and we have not fulfilled everything you commanded us for our good.
31. Todos los males que has traído sobre nosotros, todo lo que nos has hecho, lo has hecho conforme a tu justa sentencia
31. All the evils you have brought upon us, all that you have done to us, you have done according to your just sentence.
32. Nos entregaste en manos de nuestros enemigos, gente sin ley, pésimos impíos, en manos de un rey injusto, el más perverso de toda la tierra
32. You have given us into the hands of our enemies, lawless people, the worst of the impious, into the hands of an unjust king, the most perverse in all the world.
33. Y hoy no podemos abrir la boca, la vergüenza y la humillación han alcanzado a los que te sirven y te adoran
33. And today, we cannot even open our mouths; shame and humiliation have overcome those who serve and worship you.
34. No nos abandones para siempre, por amor de tu Nombre no rechaces tu alianza
34. Do not abandon us forever, do not reject your covenant for your Name's sake.
35. No nos retires tu misericordia, por Abraham, tu amigo, por Isaac, tu siervo, por Israel, tu santo,
35. Do not withdraw your mercy from us, for the sake of Abraham, your friend, of Isaac, your servant, of Israel, your holy one,
36. a quienes tú prometiste multiplicar su raza como las estrellas del cielo y como la arena de la orilla del mar
36. to whom you promised to multiply their race as the stars of heaven and the sand on the shore of the sea.
37. Porque, Señor, hemos pasado a ser la nación más pequeña de toda la tierra y somos humillados a causa de nuestros pecados
37. Lord, see, we have become the least among the nations in all the world, and we are humiliated because of our sins.
38. En esta hora ya no tenemos rey, ni profeta, ni jefe; no podemos ofrecerte víctimas, sacrificios, ofrendas ni incienso. No tenemos un lugar en que presentarte las primicias de nuestras cosechas y así conseguir tu favor
38. At this time, we no longer have a king, or prophet, or leader. We cannot offer you holocausts, sacrifices, offerings, or incense. We have no place to present to you the first-fruits of our crops, and so obtain your favor.
39. Pero, a lo menos, que al presentarnos con alma contrita y espíritu humillado te seamos agradables, más que cuando íbamos con carneros y becerros consumidos por el fuego y con miles de gordos corderos
39. But at least when we present ourselves with a contrite soul and humbled spirit may we then be acceptable to you,
40. Que hoy este sacrificio nuestro nos consiga tu favor, pues sabemos que los que confían en ti jamás serán defraudados
40. more than by offerings of rams and calves as holocausts, and of thousands of fat lambs. May this sacrifice of ours today obtain for us your favor for we know that those who trust in you shall never be disappointed.
41. Y ahora te seguimos de todo corazón, te tememos y buscamos tu rostro. No nos dejes en la humillación,
41. And now, we serve you with our whole heart, we fear you and we seek your face.
42. sino trátanos de acuerdo a tu bondad y según la abundancia de tu misericordia.
42. Do not leave us in our humiliation, but treat us according to your kindness and your great mercy.
43. Líbranos de acuerdo a tus maravillas, y da, Señor, gloria a tu Nombre
43. Free us in keeping with your wonders, and give us the glory of your Name, Lord.
44. Queden confundidos los que maltratan a tus siervos, sean cubiertos de vergüenza, privados de todo su poder;
44. Let those who maltreat your servants be confounded, may they be covered with shame and deprived of all their power. Crush their strength,
45. aplasta tú su fuerza, y sepan que tú eres el único Dios y Señor, glorioso por toda la tierra
45. and let them know that you alone are God and Lord, glorious over all the earth."
46. Los siervos del rey, que los habían arrojado al horno, no cesaban de atizar el fuego con petróleo, alquitrán, estopa y sarmientos,
46. The king's servants who had thrown them into the furnace did not stop kindling the fire with oil, tar, tow and vine shoots,
47. tanto que las llamas se elevaban por encima del horno unos veinticinco metros,
47. so that the flames rose up to about twenty-five meters above the furnace
48. y al extenderse abrasó a los caldeos que se encontraban alrededor del horno
48. and extending out, burnt the Chaldeans who were standing around.
49. Pero el ángel del Señor bajó al horno junto a Azarías y sus compañeros; empujó fuera del horno la llama de fuego,
49. But the angel of the Lord came down into the furnace beside Azariah and his companions; he drove the flames of the fire outside the furnace, and blew upon them,
50. y les sopló, en medio del horno, como una frescura de brisa y de rocío, de modo que el fuego no los tocó ni les causó dolor ni molestia
50. in the middle of the furnace, a coolness like that of wind and dew, so that the fire did not touch them or cause them pain or trouble them.
51. Entonces los tres, a coro, se pusieron a cantar, glorificando y bendiciendo a Dios dentro del horno, y diciendo
51. Then the three began singing together, glorifying and blessing God within the furnace, and saying;
52. Bendito seas, Señor, Dios de nuestros padres, alabado y exaltado eternamente BBendito sea tu santo y glorioso Nombre, cantado y exaltado eternamente
52. "Blessed are you, Lord, God of our fathers, be praised and exalted for ever. Blessed is your holy and glorious name, celebrated and exalted for ever.
53. Bendito seas en el templo de tu santa gloria, cantado y alabado eternamente
53. Blessed are you in the temple of your sacred glory, your praises are sung for ever.
54. Bendito seas en el trono de tu reino, cantado y glorificado eternamente
54. Blessed are you on the throne of your kingdom, honored and glorified for ever.
55. Bendito seas tú, que sondeas los abismos, que te sientas sobre querubines, alabado y ensalzado enternamente
55. Blessed are you who fathom the depths, who are enthroned on the cherubim, praised and exalted for ever.
56. Bendito seas en el firmamento del cielo, alabado y glorificado eternamente
56. Blessed are you in the firmament of heaven, praised and glorified for ever.
57. Obras todas del Señor, bendíganlo, alábenlo, ensálcenlo eternamente
57. All the works of the Lord, bless him, praise him, exalt him for ever.
58. Angeles del Señor, bendíganlo, alábenlo y glorifíquenlo eternamente
58. Angels of the Lord, bless him, praise and glorify him for ever.
59. Cielos, bendigan al Señor, alábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
59. Heavens, bless the Lord, praise and exalt him for ever.
60. Aguas todas del cielo, bendigan al Señor, alábenlo y exáltenlo eternamente
60. All the waters above the heavens, bless the Lord, praise and exalt him for ever.
61. Potencias todas del Señor, bendigan al Señor, alábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
61. All the powers of the Lord, bless the Lord, praise and exalt him for ever.
62. Sol y luna aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
62. Sun and moon, praise and exalt him for ever.
63. Astros del cielo aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
63. Stars of heaven, praise and exalt him for ever.
64. Lluvia y rocío aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
64. Rain and dew, praise and exalt him for ever.
65. Vientos todos aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
65. All winds, praise and exalt him for ever.
66. Fuego y calor aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
66. Fire and heat, praise and exalt him for ever.
67. Frío y ardor aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
67. Cold and heat, praise and exalt him for ever.
68. Rocíos y escarchas aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
68. Dew and frost, praise and exalt him for ever.
69. Hielos y frío aalábenlo y ensálcenlo enternamente
69. Ice and cold, praise and exalt him for ever.
70. Heladas y nieves aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
70. Frost and snow, praise and exalt him for ever.
71. Noches y días aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
71. Days and nights, praise and exalt him for ever.
72. Luz y tinieblas aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
72. Light and darkness, praise and exalt him for ever.
73. Rayos y nubes aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
73. Lightnings and clouds, praise and exalt him for ever.
74. Tierra aalábalo y ensálzalo eternamente
74. Earth, praise and exalt him for ever.
75. Montes y cerros aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
75. Mountains and hills, praise and exalt him for ever.

80. All the birds of heaven, praise and exalt him for ever.

81. Animals wild and tame, praise and exalt him for ever.
82. Hijos de los hombres aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
82. Sons of men, praise and exalt him for ever.
83. Israel, alábalo y ensálzalo eternamente
83. Israel, praise and exalt him for ever.
84. Sacerdotes del Señor aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
84. Priests of the Lord, praise and exalt him for ever.
85. Servidores del Señor aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
85. Servants of the Lord, praise and exalt him for ever.
86. Espíritus y almas de los justos aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
86. Spirits and souls of the just, praise and exalt him for ever.
87. Santos y humildes de corazón aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
87. Holy men and humble of heart, praise and exalt him for ever.
88. Ananías, Azarías, Misael bbendigan al Señor aalábenlo y ensálcenlo eternamente
88. Ananiah, Azariah, Mishael, bless the Lord, praise and exalt him for ever. For he has taken us out from the netherworld, he has saved us from the hands of death, freed us from the furnace of burning flames and rescued us from the midst of the fire.
89. Porque él nos ha arrancado del infierno, nos ha salvado de manos de la muerte, nos ha librado del horno de ardientes llamas y nos ha sacado de en medio de ellas
89. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his mercy is everlasting.
90. Den gracias al Señor, porque es bueno, porque su misericordia es eterna TTodos los que adoran al Señor, bendigan al Dios de los dioses, alábenlo y reconózcanlo porque su misericordia es eterna
90. All who worship the Lord, bless the God of gods, praise and acknowledge him for his mercy is everlasting."
91. Entonces el rey Nabucodonosor, muy asombrado, se levantó de repente y preguntó a sus consejeros: «¿No echamos al fuego a estos tres hombres atados?» Ellos respondieron: «Indudablemente.»
91. Then King Nebuchadnezzar suddenly rose up in great amazement and asked his counselors, "Did we not throw three men bound into the fire?" They answered, "Certainly."
92. Dijo el rey: «Pero yo estoy viendo a cuatro hombres que se pasean libremente en medio del fuego, sin sufrir ningún daño, y el cuarto tiene el aspecto de un hijo de los dioses.
92. The king said, "But I can see four men walking about freely through the fire without suffering any harm, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods."
93. Y Nabucodonosor se acercó a la boca del horno ardiente y dijo: «Sidrac, Misac y Abdénago, servidores del Dios Altísimo, salgan y vengan acá.» Entonces ellos salieron de en medio del fuego
93. Nebuchadnezzar approached the mouth of the blazing furnace and said, "Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out and come here." So they came out from the midst of the fire.
94. Funcionarios, prefectos, gobernadores y consejeros del rey se acercaron para verlos: el fuego no había tenido ningún poder sobre su cuerpo, sus cabellos no estaban chamuscados, sus pantalones no habían sufrido ningún daño y ni siquiera tenían olor a humo
94. The officials, prefects, governors and counselors of the king drew near to examine them: the fire had no effect on their bodies, their hair was not singed, their trousers were not burned, and they did not even have the smell of smoke.
95. Nabucodonosor exclamó: «Bendito sea el Dios de Sidrac, Misac y Abdénago que envió a su ángel a librar a sus siervos que, confiando en él, desobedecieron la orden del rey y entregaron su cuerpo al fuego antes que servir y adorar a ningún otro fuera de su Dios
95. Nebuchadnezzar exclaimed, "Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who sent his angel to free his servants who, trusting in him, disobeyed the king's order and preferred to give their bodies to the fire rather than serve and worship any other god but their God.
96. Yo ordeno, pues: De toda raza, nación y lenguaje, todo aquel que hable de forma irreverente del Dios de Sidrac, Misac y Abdégano será cortado en pedazos y su casa será destruida porque no hay otro dios que pueda salvar de este modo.
96. I give this command, therefore: From every race, nation and language, anyone who speaks irreverently of the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego shall be cut into pieces and his house shall be destroyed, for there is no other god who can save like this."
97. Y el rey hizo progresar a Sidrac, Misac y Abdénago en la provincia de Babilonia.
97. And the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the province of Babylon.
98. Nabucodonosor, rey, a todos los pueblos, a todas las naciones y a todos los hombres de la tierra, sea cual fuere su idioma: Paz.
98. Nebuchadnezzar, the king, to all peoples, all nations and to all men on the earth whatever be their language: Peace.
99. Me ha parecido bien darles a conocer las señales y milagros que ha hecho en mí el Dios Altísimo.
99. It pleases me to make known to you the signs and wonders the Most High God has done in me.
100. ¡Qué grandes son sus prodigios, qué poderosos sus milagros! Su reino es un reino eterno, su imperio abarca a todas las generaciones.
100. How great are his signs, how mighty his wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, his dominion lasts for all generations.
