Jeremiah, 45

1. These are the words of Jeremiah the prophet to Baruch, son of Neriah who wrote on a scroll what Jeremiah dictated. It was in the fourth year of the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josias king of Judah when he said

2. "There is a word of Yahweh for you, Baruch. Why do you complain:

3. 'Alas for me! I am weary of sighing and I find no rest!'

4. Yahweh says: 'When I am knocking down what I have built and pulling up what I planted,

5. why do you want great things for yourself? Don't look for them! Yet, though I am about to send disaster on everyone - word of Yahweh - you will be safe wherever you go."
