Salmos, 12

1. Ao mestre de canto. Salmo de Davi.*

1. Unto the end, a psalm for David. How long, O Lord, wilt thou forget me unto the end? how long dost thou turn away thy face from me?

2. Até quando, Senhor, de todo vos esquecereis de mim? Por quanto tempo ainda desviareis de mim os vossos olhares?

2. How long shall I take counsels in my soul, sorrow in my heart all the day?

3. Até quando aninharei a angústia na minha alma, e, dia após dia, a tristeza no coração?

3. How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

4. Até quando se levantará o meu inimigo contra mim? Olhai! Ouvi-me, Senhor, ó meu Deus!

4. Consider, and hear me, O Lord my God. Enlighten my eyes that I never sleep in death:

5. Iluminai meus olhos com vossa luz, para eu não adormecer na morte, para que meu inimigo não venha a dizer: “Venci-o”;

5. lest at any time my enemy say: I have prevailed against him. They that trouble me will rejoice when I am moved:

6. e meus adversários não triunfem no momento de minha queda, eu que confiei em vossa misericórdia. Antes possa meu coração regozijar-se em vosso socorro! Então cantarei ao Senhor pelos benefícios que me concedeu.

6. but I have trusted in thy mercy. My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation: I will sing to the Lord, who giveth me good things: yea I will sing to the name of the Lord the most high.
