Psalms, 12

1. For the leader; "upon the eighth." A psalm of David.

2. Help, LORD, for no one loyal remains; the faithful have vanished from the human race

3. Those who tell lies to one another speak with deceiving lips and a double heart.

4. May the LORD cut off all deceiving lips, and every boastful tongue,

5. Those who say, "By our tongues we prevail; when our lips speak, who can lord it over us?"

6. "Because they rob the weak, and the needy groan, I will now arise," says the LORD; "I will grant safety to whoever longs for it."

7. The promises of the LORD are sure, silver refined in a crucible, silver purified seven times.

8. LORD, protect us always; preserve us from this generation.

9. On every side the wicked strut; the shameless are extolled by all.

Psalm 12 deals with the lack of faithfulness and honesty among people, calling for God's intervention and the salvation of the righteous. Proverbs 11:20: "The wicked of heart are abominable to the Lord, but those who are blameless in their ways are their delight." This verse highlights the fact that God loves those who follow their ways and remain faithful to Him, rather than moving toward sin.

1 Peter 4:18: "What if the righteous is saved with difficulty, that will happen to the wicked and sinner?" This verse talks about the difficulties that the righteous face in life, but emphasizes the importance of persevering in their faith, for those who move away from God's way will face an even worse destiny.

Psalm 119:140: "Your commandments are truly righteous; you are faithful and straight." This verse highlights the just and faithful character of God, reminding us that He will always be the perfect guide in our lives.

Isaiah 41:10: "Do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not be terrified, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will hold you with my right right hand." This verse reminds us that despite the difficulties and challenges we face in life, God is always with us and will strengthen us to face them.

Romans 12:21: "Don't be overcome by evil, but won evil with good." This verse encourages us to remain faithful to God and to resist the temptation to give in to evil. We must overcome evil with goodness and remain firm in our faith, even in difficult times.
