1. Israël partit avec tout ce qui lui appartenait. Arrivé à Bersabée, il offrit des sacrifices au Dieu de son père Isaac.

6. Ils prirent aussi leurs troupeaux et leurs biens qu'ils avaient acquis dans le pays de Cha­naan. Et Jacob se rendit en Egypte avec toute sa famille.

6. They took with them their livestock and the possessions they had acquired in the land of Canaan. Thus Jacob and all his descendants migrated to Egypt.

7. Il emmena avec lui en Egypte ses fils et les fils de ses fils, ses filles et les filles de ses fils, et toute sa famille.

18. These were the descendants of Zilpah, whom Laban had given to his daughter Leah; these she bore to Jacob--sixteen persons in all.

19. Fils de Rachel, femme de Jacob : Joseph et Benjamin.

20. Il naquit à Joseph, au pays d'Égypte, des fils que lui enfanta Ase­neth, fille de Putiphar, prêtre d'On, savoir Manassé et Ephraïm.-

21. Fils de Ben­jamin : Béla, Bochor, Asbel, Géra, Naa­man, Echi, Ros, Mophim, Ophim et Ared. -

22. Ce sont là les fils de Rachel, qui naquirent à Jacob : en tout quatorze personnes.

23. Fils de Dan : Husim. -

23. The sons of Dan: Hushim.

24. Fils de Nephtali : Jasiel, Guni, Jéser et Salem. -

24. The sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem.

25. Ce sont là les fils de Bala, que Laban avait donnée à Rachel, sa fille; et elle les en­fanta à Jacob : en tout sept personnes.

25. These were the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban had given to his daughter Rachel; these she bore to Jacob--seven persons in all.

26. Toutes les personnes qui vinrent avec Jacob en Egypte, issues de lui, sans comp­ter les femmes des fils de Jacob, étaient au nombre de soixante-six en tout.

26. Jacob's people who migrated to Egypt--his direct descendants, not counting the wives of Jacob's sons--numbered sixty-six persons in all.

27. Les fils de Joseph qui lui étaient nés en Egypte étaient deux.- Le total des personnes de la famille de Jacob qui vinrent en Egypte était de soixante-dix.

27. Together with Joseph's sons who were born to him in Egypt--two persons--all the people comprising Jacob's family who had come to Egypt amounted to seventy persons in all.

33. So when Pharaoh summons you and asks what your occupation is,

34. vous répondrez : Nous, tes ser­viteurs, sommes des propriétaires de trou­peaux depuis notre jeunesse jusqu'à pré­sent comme l'étaient nos pères . De cette manière vous habiterez dans le pays de Gessen, car tous les bergers sont en abo­mination aux Egyptiens. "
