Psalms, 25

1. Unto the end, a psalm for David. Judge me, O Lord, for I have walked in my innocence: and I have put my trust in the Lord, and shall not be weakened.

1. Di Davide. Io pongo in te, Signore, la mia speranza, elevo l'anima mia

2. Prove me, O Lord, and try me; burn my reins and my heart.

2. al mio Dio. In te mi rifugio: che non rimanga confuso, che di me non gioiscano i miei nemici.

3. For thy mercy is before my eyes; and I am well pleased with thy truth.

3. Certo, quanti sperano in te non resteranno confusi, tutti quanti i rinnegati rimarranno a mani vuote.

4. I have not sat with the council of vanity: neither will I go in with the doers of unjust things.

4. Mostrami, o Signore, le tue vie, istruiscimi nei tuoi sentieri.

5. I have hated the assembly of the malignant; and with the wicked I will not sit.

5. Fammi camminare nella tua fedeltà, poiché sei tu il Dio della mia salvezza e te attendo per tutto il giorno.

6. I will wash my hands among the innocent; and will compass thy altar, O Lord:

6. Ricorda, o Signore, quanto sono antichi i gesti della tua clemente misericordia.

7. That I may hear the voice of thy praise: and tell of all thy wondrous works.

7. I peccati della mia giovinezza e le mie trasgressioni dimentica, secondo la tua misericordia ricòrdati di me, in grazia della tua bontà, o Signore.

8. I have loved, O Lord, the beauty of thy house; and the place where thy glory dwelleth.

8. Buono e retto è il Signore, per questo i peccatori istruirà nella sua via.

9. Take not away my soul, O God, with the wicked: nor my life with bloody men:

9. Farà camminare i poveri nella sua giustizia e ad essi insegnerà la sua via.

10. In whose hands are iniquities: their right hand is filled with gifts.

10. Tutti i suoi sentieri sono misericordia e fedeltà per coloro che custodiscono il suo patto e gli statuti.

11. But as for me, I have walked in my innocence: redeem me, and have mercy on me.

11. In grazia del tuo nome, o Signore, perdonerai il mio peccato, per quanto grande esso sia.

12. My foot hath stood in the direct way: in the churches I will bless thee, O Lord.

12. Chi è mai l'uomo che teme il Signore? Sulla via che dovrà scegliere egli l'ammaestra.

13. Nel bene dimorerà l'anima sua e la sua discendenza erediterà la terra.

14.

14. La familiarità del Signore è per quelli che lo temono e il suo patto farà conoscere a loro.

15.

15. Sono fissi i miei occhi sul Signore, poiché egli dalla rete districa i miei piedi.

16.

16. Vòlgiti a me e abbi pietà di me, perché io sono misero e solo.

17.

17. Le angustie del mio cuore rallenta, fammi uscire da ogni strettezza.

18.

18. Riguarda la mia afflizione e la mia pena, porta via tutti i miei peccati.

19.

19. Guarda i miei nemici, come sono numerosi e con quanta violenza essi m'avversano.

20.

20. Custodiscimi e salva l'anima mia, che io non resti confuso perché mi sono rifugiato in te.

21.

21. Innocenza e rettitudine mi custodiranno, poiché in te, Signore, ho posto la mia speranza.

22.

22. Libera Israele, o Dio, da tutte le angustie.
