Hosea, 13

2. Now they continue to sin, making for themselves molten images, Silver idols according to their fancy, all of them the work of artisans. "To these," they say, "offer sacrifice." Men kiss calves!

This verse talks about the choice of the people of Israel to abandon God and seek other sources of satisfaction, which will lead to their own destruction.

Joel 1:7: "He rocked my vineyard and stripped my fig tree, peeling it completely and throwing it apart; This verse describes the destruction of God's vineyard, an image similar to those used by Hosea to describe Israel's situation.
