1. Yahweh parla à Moïse, en disant :

1. This is what the LORD then said to Moses:

2. "Dis aux enfants d'Israël de prélever pour moi une offrande; de tout homme qui la donnera de bon coeur vous recevrez pour moi l'offrande.

2. "Tell the Israelites to take up a collection for me. From every man you shall accept the contribution that his heart prompts him to give me.

3. Voici l'of-frande que vous recevrez d'eux: de l'or, de l'argent et de l'airain ;

3. These are the contributions you shall accept from them: gold, silver and bronze;

4. de la pourpre violette, de la pourpre écarlate, du cra-moisi, du fin lin et du poil de chèvre;

4. violet, purple and scarlet yarn; fine linen and goat hair;

5. des peaux de béliers teintes en rouge, des peaux de veaux marins et du bois d'acacia ;

5. rams' skins dyed red, and tahash skins; acacia wood;

6. de l'huile pour le chandelier, des aromates pour l'huile d'onction et pour le parfum d'encensement;

6. oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;

7. des pierres d'onyx et d'autres pierres à enchâsser pour l'éphod et le pectoral.

7. onyx stones and other gems for mounting on the ephod and the breastpiece.

8. Ils me feront un sanc-tuaire, et j'habiterai au milieu d'eux.

8. "They shall make a sanctuary for me, that I may dwell in their midst.

9. Vous vous conformerez à tout ce que je vais vous montrer, au modèle du taber-nacle, et au modèle de tous ses ustensiles."

9. This Dwelling and all its furnishings you shall make exactly according to the pattern that I will now show you.

10. "Ils feront une arche de bois d'acacia; sa longueur sera de deux coudées et demie, sa largeur d'une coudée et demie, et sa hauteur d'une coudée et demie.

10. "You shall make an ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, one and a half cubits wide, and one and a half cubits high.

11. Tu la revêtiras d'or pur, en dedans et en de-hors, et tu y feras une guirlande d'or tout autour.

11. Plate it inside and outside with pure gold, and put a molding of gold around the top of it.

12. Tu fondras pour elle quatre anneaux d'or, que tu mettras à ses qua-tre pieds, deux anneaux d'un côté et deux anneaux de l'autre.

12. Cast four gold rings and fasten them on the four supports of the ark, two rings on one side and two on the opposite side.

13. Tu feras des barres de bois d'acacia, et tu les revêtiras d'or.

13. Then make poles of acacia wood and plate them with gold.

14. Tu passeras les barres dans les anneaux sur les côtés de l'arche, pour qu'elles ser-vent à porter l'arche.

14. These poles you are to put through the rings on the sides of the ark, for carrying it;

15. Les barres resteront dans les anneaux de l'arche, et n'en seront point retirées.

15. they must remain in the rings of the ark and never be withdrawn.

16. Tu mettras dans l'arche le témoignage que je te donnerai.

16. In the ark you are to put the commandments which I will give you.

17. Tu feras un propitiatoire d'or pur; sa longueur sera de deux coudées et demie, et sa largeur d'une coudée et demie.

17. "You shall then make a propitiatory of pure gold, two cubits and a half long, and one and a half cubits wide.

18. Tu feras deux chérubins d'or; tu les feras d'or battu, aux deux extrémités du propitia-toire.

18. Make two cherubim of beaten gold for the two ends of the propitiatory,

19. Fais un chérubin à l'une des extrémités et un chérubin à l'autre extrémité; vous ferez les chérubins sortant du propi-tiatoire à ses deux extrémités.

19. fastening them so that one cherub springs direct from each end.

20. Les chérubins auront leurs ailes déployées vers le haut, couvrant de leurs ailes le propi-tiatoire, et se faisant face l'un à l'autre; les faces des Chérubins seront tournées vers le propitiatoire.

20. The cherubim shall have their wings spread out above, covering the propitiatory with them; they shall be turned toward each other, but with their faces looking toward the propitiatory.

21. Tu mettras le propitiatoire au-dessus de l'arche, et tu met-tras dans l'arche le témoignage que je te donnerai.

21. This propitiatory you shall then place on top of the ark. In the ark itself you are to put the commandments which I will give you.

22. Là je me rencontrerai avec toi et je te communiquerai, de dessus le propitiatoire, du milieu des deux chérubins qui sont sur l'arche du témoignage, tous les ordres que je te donnerai pour les enfants d'Israël.

22. There I will meet you and there, from above the propitiatory, between the two cherubim on the ark of the commandments, I will tell you all the commands that I wish you to give the Israelites.

23. Tu feras une table de bois d'acacia; sa longueur sera de deux coudées, sa largeur d'une coudée, et sa hauteur d'une coudée et demie.

23. "You shall also make a table of acacia wood, two cubits long, a cubit wide, and a cubit and a half high.

24. Tu la revêtiras d'or pur, et tu y mettras une guirlande d'or tout autour.

24. Plate it with pure gold and make a molding of gold around it.

25. Tu lui feras à l'entour un châssis d'une palme, et tu feras une guir-lande d'or au châssis, tout autour.

25. Surround it with a frame, a handbreadth high, with a molding of gold around the frame.

26. Tu feras pour la table quatre anneaux d'or; et tu mettras les anneaux aux quatre coins, qui seront à ses quatre pieds.

26. You shall also make four rings of gold for it and fasten them at the four corners, one at each leg,

27. Les anneaux seront près du châssis, pour re-cevoir les barres qui doivent porter la ta-ble.

27. on two opposite sides of the frame as holders for the poles to carry the table.

28. Tu feras les barres de bois d'acacia, et tu les revêtiras d'or; elles serviront à porter la table.

28. These poles for carrying the table you shall make of acacia wood and plate with gold.

29. Tu feras ses plats, ses cassolettes, ses coupes et ses tasses ser-vant aux libations ; tu les feras d'or pur.

29. Of pure gold you shall make its plates and cups, as well as its pitchers and bowls for pouring libations.

30. Tu placeras sur la table les pains de proposition, perpétuellement devant ma face.

30. On the table you shall always keep showbread set before me.

31. Tu feras un chandelier d'or pur ; le chandelier, avec son pied et sa tige, sera fait d'or battu; ses calices, ses boutons et ses fleurs seront d'une même pièce.

31. "You shall make a lampstand of pure beaten gold-its shaft and branches-with its cups and knobs and petals springing directly from it.

32. Six branches sortiront de ses côtés; trois branches du chandelier de l'un de ses côtés, et trois branches du chandelier du second de ses côtés.

32. Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand, three branches on one side, and three on the other.

33. Il y aura sur la première branche trois calices en fleurs d'amandier, bouton et fleur, et sur la seconde branche trois calices en fleurs d'amandier, bouton et fleur; il en sera de même pour les six branches partant du chandelier.

33. On one branch there are to be three cups, shaped like almond blossoms, each with its knob and petals; on the opposite branch there are to be three cups, shaped like almond blossoms, each with its knob and petals; and so for the six branches that extend from the lampstand.

34. A la tige du chan-delier, il y aura quatre calices en fleurs d'amandier, leurs boutons et leurs fleurs.

34. On the shaft there are to be four cups, shaped like almond blossoms, with their knobs and petals,

35. Il y aura un bouton sous les deux pre-mières branches partant de la tige du chandelier, un bouton sous les deux bran-ches suivantes partant de la tige du chan-delier, et un bouton sous les deux der-nières branches partant de la tige du chandelier, selon les six branches sortant de la tige du chandelier.

35. including a knob below each of the three pairs of branches that extend from the lampstand.

36. Ces boutons et ces branches seront d'une même pièce avec le chandelier ; le tout sera une masse d'or battu, d'or pur.

36. Their knobs and branches shall so spring from it that the whole will form but a single piece of pure beaten gold.

37. Tu feras ses lampes, au nombre de sept, et on placera ses lampes sur les branches, de manière à éclairer en face.

37. You shall then make seven lamps for it and so set up the lamps that they shed their light on the space in front of the lampstand.

38. Ses mouchettes et ses vases à cendre seront en or pur.

38. These, as well as the trimming shears and trays, must be of pure gold.

39. On emploiera un talent d'or pur pour faire le chandelier avec tous ses ustensiles.

39. Use a talent of pure gold for the lampstand and all its appurtenances.

40. Re-garde, et fais selon le modèle qui t'est montré sur la montagne."

40. See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
