Psalms, 42

4. This I remember as I pour out my heart, how I used to pass under the roof of the Most High used to go to the house of God, among cries of joy and praise, the sound of the feast.

Psalm 42 is a psalm of lamentation that expresses the sorrow and longing for the psalmist by the presence of God. He longs for God as a thirsty person longs for water. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in Psalm 42:

Psalm 63:1: "O God, you are my God; I seek you intensely. My soul is thirsty for you! All my being longs for you, in a dry, exhausted and without water." This verse reflects the same intense search for God expressed by the psalmist in Psalm 42.

Psalm 63:6: "I remember you as I go to sleep; I meditate on you during the night vigils." This verse suggests that the search for God is constant, even during sleep and night.
