Jó, 25

1. Bildad de Suás tomou então a palavra nestes termos:

1. Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

2. “A ele, o poder e a majestade. Em sua alta morada faz reinar a paz.

2. Dominion and fear [are] with him, he maketh peace in his high places.

3. Pode ser contado o número de suas legiões? Sobre quem não se levanta a sua luz?

3. Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise?

4. Seria justo o homem diante de Deus? Seria puro aquele que nasce da mulher?

4. How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean [that is] born of a woman?

5. Se até mesmo a lua não brilha e as estrelas não são puras a seus olhos

5. Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight.

6. quanto menos o homem, esse verme, e o filho do homem, esse vermezinho!”.*

6. How much less man, [that is] a worm? and the son of man, [which is] a worm?
