Salmos, 114

1. Aleluia. Amo o Senhor, porque ele ouviu a voz de minha súplica,*

1. I have loved, because the Lord will hear the voice of my prayer.

2. porque inclinou para mim os seus ouvidos no dia em que o invoquei.

2. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me: and in my days I will call upon him.

3. Os laços da morte me envolviam, a rede da habitação dos mortos me apanhou de improviso; estava abismado na aflição e na ansiedade.

3. The sorrows of death have encompassed me: and the perils of hell have found me. I met with trouble and sorrow:

4. Foi então que invoquei o nome do Senhor: “Ó Senhor, salvai-me a vida!”.

4. and I called upon the name of the Lord. O Lord, deliver my soul.

5. O Senhor é bom e justo, cheio de misericórdia é nosso Deus.

5. The Lord is merciful and just, and our God sheweth mercy.

6. O Senhor cuida dos corações simples; achava-me na miséria e ele me salvou.

6. The Lord is the keeper of little ones: I was little and he delivered me.

7. Volta, minha alma, à tua serenidade, porque o Senhor foi bom para contigo,

7. Turn, O my soul, into thy rest: for the Lord hath been bountiful to thee.

8. pois livrou-me a alma da morte, preservou-me os olhos do pranto, os pés da queda.

8. For he hath delivered my soul from death: my eyes from tears, my feet from falling.

9. Na presença do Senhor continuarei o meu caminho na terra dos vivos.

9. I will please the Lord in the land of the living.
