1. Qui habitat in protectione Altissimi, sub umbra Omnipotentis commorabitur.

3. Quoniam ipse liberabit te de laqueo venantium et a verbo maligno.

4. Alis suis obumbrabit tibi, et sub pennas eius confugies; scutum et lorica veritas eius.

4. he will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

5. Non timebis a timore nocturno, a sagitta volante in die,

5. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,

6. a peste perambulante in tenebris, ab exterminio vastante in meridie.

6. nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7. Cadent a latere tuo mille et decem milia a dextris tuis; ad te autem non appropinquabit.

7. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you.

8. Verumtamen oculis tuis considerabis et retributionem peccatorum videbis.

8. You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.

9. Quoniam tu es, Domine, refugium meum. Altissimum posuisti habitaculum tuum.

9. Because you have made the LORD your refuge, the Most High your habitation,

10. Non accedet ad te malum, et flagellum non appropinquabit tabernaculo tuo,

10. no evil shall befall you, no scourge come near your tent.

11. quoniam angelis suis mandabit de te, ut custodiant te in omnibus viis tuis.

11. For he will give his angels charge of you to guard you in all your ways.

12. In manibus portabunt te, ne forte offendas ad lapidem pedem tuum.

12. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

13. Super aspidem et basiliscum ambulabis et conculcabis leonem et draconem.

13. You will tread on the lion and the adder, the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.

14. Quoniam mihi adhaesit, liberabo eum; suscipiam eum, quoniam cognovit nomen meum.

14. Because he cleaves to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.

15. Clamabit ad me, et ego exaudiam eum; cum ipso sum in tribulatione; eripiam eum et glorificabo eum.

15. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will rescue him and honor him.

16. Longitudine dierum replebo eum et ostendam illi salutare meum.

16. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him my salvation.
