Psalms, 42

9. I say to God, my rock: "Why hast thou forgotten me? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?"

Psalm 42 is a psalm of lamentation that expresses the sorrow and longing for the psalmist by the presence of God. He longs for God as a thirsty person longs for water. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in Psalm 42:

Psalm 63:1: "O God, you are my God; I seek you intensely. My soul is thirsty for you! All my being longs for you, in a dry, exhausted and without water." This verse reflects the same intense search for God expressed by the psalmist in Psalm 42.

Psalm 63:6: "I remember you as I go to sleep; I meditate on you during the night vigils." This verse suggests that the search for God is constant, even during sleep and night.

Psalm 84:2: "How pleasant is the place of your dwelling, Lord of hosts!" This verse expresses the longing of the psalmist by the presence of God, as well as in Psalm 42.

Psalm 119:82: "My eyes are tired of waiting so much for your promise, and I ask," When you will comfort me? "" This verse shows the impatience of the psalmist by waiting for the consolation of God, which is also expressed in psalm 42.
