0. A Psalm of Asaph.

1. Salmo. Di Asaf. Dio si erge nell'assemblea divina, in mezzo agli dèi emana la sua sentenza:

1. God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment:

2. "Fino a quando emanerete sentenze inique, e prenderete le parti degli empi?

2. "How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? [Selah]

3. Difendete piuttosto il debole e l'orfano, rendete giustizia al misero e al povero.

3. Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.

4. Liberate il debole e l'indigente, strappatelo alla stretta dell'empio".

4. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."

5. Essi non capiscono, non possono intendere; il loro cammino sta nelle tenebre, possano pur vacillare tutte le fondamenta della terra.

5. They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.

6. Io riflettei: "Siete dèi, tutti figli dell'Altissimo!

6. I say, "You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;

7. Eppure morrete come ogni uomo, come ognuno dei potenti cadrete!".

7. nevertheless, you shall die like men, and fall like any prince."

8. Sorgi, o Dio, giudica la terra. Sì, l'eredità tu avrai di tutte le genti.

8. Arise, O God, judge the earth; for to thee belong all the nations!
