Revelation, 14

1. Next in my vision I saw Mount Zion, and standing on it the Lamb who had with him a hundred and forty-four thousand people, all with his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads.

1. Und ich sah: Das Lamm stand auf dem Berg Zion und bei ihm waren hundertvierundvierzigtausend; auf ihrer Stirn trugen sie seinen Namen und den Namen seines Vaters.

2. I heard a sound coming out of heaven like the sound of the ocean or the roar of thunder; it was like the sound of harpists playing their harps.

2. Dann hörte ich eine Stimme vom Himmel her, die dem Rauschen von Wassermassen und dem Rollen eines gewaltigen Donners glich. Die Stimme, die ich hörte, war wie der Klang der Harfe, die ein Harfenspieler schlägt.

3. There before the throne they were singing a new hymn in the presence of the four living creatures and the elders, a hymn that could be learnt only by the hundred and forty-four thousand who had been redeemed from the world.

3. Und sie sangen ein neues Lied vor dem Thron und vor den vier Lebewesen und vor den Ältesten. Aber niemand konnte das Lied singen lernen außer den hundertvierundvierzigtausend, die freigekauft und von der Erde weggenommen worden sind.

4. These are the sons who have kept their virginity and not been defiled with women; they follow the Lamb wherever he goes; they, out of all people, have been redeemed to be the first-fruits for God and for the Lamb.

4. Sie sind es, die sich nicht mit Weibern befleckt haben; denn sie sind jungfräulich. Sie folgen dem Lamm, wohin es geht. Sie allein unter allen Menschen sind freigekauft als Erstlingsgabe für Gott und das Lamm.

5. No lie was found in their mouths and no fault can be found in them.

5. Denn in ihrem Mund fand sich keinerlei Lüge. Sie sind ohne Makel.

6. Then I saw another angel, flying high overhead, sent to announce the gospel of eternity to all who live on the earth, every nation, race, language and tribe.

6. Dann sah ich: Ein anderer Engel flog hoch am Himmel. Er hatte den Bewohnern der Erde ein ewiges Evangelium zu verkünden, allen Nationen, Stämmen, Sprachen und Völkern.

7. He was calling, 'Fear God and glorify him, because the time has come for him to sit in judgement; worship the maker of heaven and earth and sea and the springs of water.'

7. Er rief mit lauter Stimme: Fürchtet Gott und erweist ihm die Ehre! Denn die Stunde seines Gerichts ist gekommen. Betet ihn an, der den Himmel und die Erde, das Meer und die Wasserquellen geschaffen hat.

8. A second angel followed him, calling, 'Babylon has fallen, Babylon the Great has fallen, Babylon which gave the whole world the wine of retribution to drink.'

8. Ein anderer Engel, ein zweiter, folgte und rief: Gefallen, gefallen ist Babylon, die Große, die alle Völker betrunken gemacht hat mit dem Zornwein ihrer Hurerei.

9. A third angel followed, shouting aloud, 'All those who worship the beast and his statue, or have had themselves branded on the hand or forehead,

9. Ein anderer Engel, ein dritter, folgte ihnen und rief mit lauter Stimme: Wer das Tier und sein Standbild anbetet und wer das Kennzeichen auf seiner Stirn oder seiner Hand annimmt,

10. will be made to drink the wine of God's fury which is ready, undiluted, in his cup of retribution; in fire and brimstone they will be tortured in the presence of the holy angels and the Lamb

10. der muss den Wein des Zornes Gottes trinken, der unverdünnt im Becher seines Zorns gemischt ist. Und er wird mit Feuer und Schwefel gequält vor den Augen der heiligen Engel und des Lammes.

11. and the smoke of their torture will rise for ever and ever. There will be no respite, night or day, for those who worship the beast or its statue or accept branding with its name.'

11. Der Rauch von ihrer Peinigung steigt auf in alle Ewigkeit und alle, die das Tier und sein Standbild anbeten und die seinen Namen als Kennzeichen annehmen, werden bei Tag und Nacht keine Ruhe haben.

12. This is why there must be perseverance in the saints who keep the commandments of God and faith in Jesus.

12. Hier muss sich die Standhaftigkeit der Heiligen bewähren, die an den Geboten Gottes und an der Treue zu Jesus festhalten.

13. Then I heard a voice from heaven say to me, 'Write down: Blessed are those who die in the Lord! Blessed indeed, the Spirit says; now they can rest for ever after their work, since their good deeds go with them.'

13. Und ich hörte eine Stimme vom Himmel her rufen: Schreibe! Selig die Toten, die im Herrn sterben, von jetzt an; ja, spricht der Geist, sie sollen ausruhen von ihren Mühen; denn ihre Werke begleiten sie.

14. Now in my vision I saw a white cloud and, sitting on it, one like a son of man with a gold crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.

14. Dann sah ich eine weiße Wolke. Auf der Wolke thronte einer, der wie ein Menschensohn aussah. Er trug einen goldenen Kranz auf dem Haupt und eine scharfe Sichel in der Hand.

15. Then another angel came out of the sanctuary and shouted at the top of his voice to the one sitting on the cloud, 'Ply your sickle and reap: harvest time has come and the harvest of the earth is ripe.'

15. Und ein anderer Engel kam aus dem Tempel und rief dem, der auf der Wolke saß, mit lauter Stimme zu: Schick deine Sichel aus und ernte! Denn die Zeit zu ernten ist gekommen: Die Frucht der Erde ist reif geworden.

16. Then the one sitting on the cloud set his sickle to work on the earth, and the harvest of earth was reaped.

16. Und der, der auf der Wolke saß, schleuderte seine Sichel über die Erde und die Erde wurde abgeerntet.

17. Another angel, who also carried a sharp sickle, came out of the temple in heaven,

17. Und ein anderer Engel trat aus dem himmlischen Tempel. Auch er hatte eine scharfe Sichel.

18. and the angel in charge of the fire left the altar and shouted at the top of his voice to the one with the sharp sickle, 'Put your sickle in, and harvest the bunches from the vine of the earth; all its grapes are ripe.'

18. Vom Altar her kam noch ein anderer Engel, der die Macht über das Feuer hatte. Dem, der die scharfe Sichel trug, rief er mit lauter Stimme zu: Schick deine scharfe Sichel aus und ernte die Trauben vom Weinstock der Erde! Seine Beeren sind reif geworden.

19. So the angel set his sickle to work on the earth and harvested the whole vintage of the earth and put it into a huge winepress, the winepress of God's anger,

19. Da schleuderte der Engel seine Sichel auf die Erde, erntete den Weinstock der Erde ab und warf die Trauben in die große Kelter des Zornes Gottes.

20. outside the city, where it was trodden until the blood that came out of the winepress was up to the horses' bridles as far away as sixteen hundred furlongs.

20. Die Kelter wurde draußen vor der Stadt getreten und Blut strömte aus der Kelter; es stieg an, bis an die Zügel der Pferde, eintausendsechshundert Stadien weit.
