Haggai, 1

1. On the first day of the sixth month in the second year of King Darius, the word of the LORD came through the prophet Haggai to the governor of Judah, Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, and to the high priest Joshua, son of Jehozadak:

Chapter 1 of Haggai begins with a rebuke of God to the people of Judah for neglecting the reconstruction of the temple while working in their own homes and businesses. The prophet urges the people to turn their attention to the temple and the service of God, promising that God's blessing will come upon them. Malachi 3:10: "Bring the whole tithing to the temple warehouse, so that there may be food in my house.
