Psalms, 98

1. A psalm for David himself. The Lord hath reigned, let the people be angry: he that sitteth on the cherubims: let the earth be moved.

1. Salmo. Cantate al Signore un canto nuovo, poiché cose mirabili egli ha compiuto. Gli ha dato vittoria la sua destra, il suo santo braccio.

2. The Lord is great in Sion, and high above all people.

2. Il Signore ha manifestato la sua salvezza, agli occhi delle genti ha rivelato la sua giustizia.

3. Let them give praise to thy great name: for it is terrible and holy:

3. Si è ricordato della sua misericordia, della sua fedeltà per la casa d'Israele. Tutti i confini della terra hanno visto la salvezza del nostro Dio.

4. and the king's honour loveth judgment. Thou hast prepared directions: thou hast done judgment and justice in Jacob.

4. Acclami al Signore tutta la terra; gridate, esultate con canti festosi.

5. Exalt ye the Lord our God, and adore his footstool, for it is holy.

5. Inneggiate al Signore con l'arpa, con l'arpa e al suono del salterio;

6. Moses and Aaron among his priests: and Samuel among them that call upon his name. They called upon the Lord, and he heard them:

6. con le trombe e il suono del corno; acclamate davanti al re, il Signore.

7. he spoke to them in the pillar of the cloud. They kept his testimonies, and the commandment which he gave them.

7. Frema il mare con quanto contiene, il mondo con i suoi abitanti;

8. Thou didst hear them, O Lord our God: thou wast a merciful God to them, and taking vengeance on all their inventions.

8. i fiumi battano le mani, così pure i monti gridino di gioia,

9. Exalt ye the Lord our God, and adore at his holy mountain: for the Lord our God is holy.

9. davanti al Signore che viene, che viene a giudicare la terra; giudicherà il mondo con giustizia, e i popoli con equità.
