Psalms, 125

1. When the lord brought back the captivity of Sion, we became like men comforted.

1. Canto delle ascensioni. Quelli che confidano nel Signore sono come il monte Sion, che non vacilla, che è stabile in eterno.

2. Then was our mouth filled with gladness; and our tongue with joy. Then shall they say among the Gentiles: The Lord hath done great things for them.

2. I monti circondano Gerusalemme e il Signore sta intorno al suo popolo, ora e sempre!

3. The Lord hath done great things for us: we are become joyful.

3. Sì, lo scettro di empietà non riposerà sull'eredità dei giusti, purché i giusti non stendano le mani a compiere il male.

4. Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as a stream in the south.

4. Sii benevolo, Signore, con i buoni e con quanti sono retti nel loro cuore.

5. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

5. Ma coloro che declinano per sentieri tortuosi il Signore li accomunerà con gli operatori di male. Pace su Israele!

7. But coming they shall come with joyfulness, carrying their sheaves.
