Psalms, 50

1. Unto the end, a psalm of David,

1. Salmo. Di Asaf. Dio, Dio, il Signore parla e chiama la terra dal sorgere del sole fino al suo tramonto.

2. when Nathan the prophet came to him after he had sinned with Bethsabee.

2. Da Sion, perfezione di bellezza, Dio risplende.

3. Have mercy on me, O God, according to thy great mercy. And according to the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my iniquity.

3. Viene il nostro Dio e non tacerà; fuoco divorante va davanti a lui e tempesta possente gli sta tutt'intorno.

4. Wash me yet more from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

4. Dall'alto chiama i cieli e la terra per il giudizio del suo popolo:

5. For I know my iniquity, and my sin is always before me.

5. "Radunate davanti a me tutti i miei devoti, quelli che nel sacrificio hanno stretto alleanza con me".

6. To thee only have I sinned, and have done evil before thee: that thou mayst be justified in thy words and mayst overcome when thou art judged.

6. Perché annunzino i cieli la sua giustizia, poiché Dio è giudice.

7. For behold I was conceived in iniquities; and in sins did my mother conceive me.

7. Ascolta, o popolo mio, perché voglio parlare, o Israele. Contro di te vorrò testimoniare. Io sono Dio, il tuo Dio.

8. For behold thou hast loved truth: the uncertain and hidden things of thy wisdom thou hast made manifest to me.

8. Non per i tuoi sacrifici ti muoverò rimproveri, né per i tuoi olocausti, che sono sempre dinanzi a me.

9. Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be cleansed: thou shalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow.

9. Giovenchi dalla tua casa non accetto, né arieti dai tuoi ovili.

10. To my hearing thou shalt give joy and gladness: and the bones that have been humbled shall rejoice.

10. Poiché mie sono tutte le fiere della selva, come le bestie sui miei monti a migliaia.

11. Turn away thy face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.

11. A me sono noti tutti gli uccelli dell'aria e mio è ciò che brulica nel campo.

12. Create a clean heart in me, O God: and renew a right spirit within my bowels.

12. Se avessi fame non mi rivolgerei a te, perché mio è il mondo e tutto ciò che contiene.

13. Cast me not away from thy face; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

13. Ho forse bisogno di mangiare la carne dei tori e di bere il sangue degli arieti?

14. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation, and strengthen me with a perfect spirit.

14. Offri a Dio il sacrificio di ringraziamento per adempiere a Dio i tuoi voti.

15. I will teach the unjust thy ways: and the wicked shall be converted to thee.

15. Nel giorno dell'angustia chiamami e io ti libererò, ma tu poi dovrai onorarmi.

16. Deliver me from blood, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall extol thy justice.

16. All'empio così dice Dio: "Perché ti dài pensiero di enumerare i miei precetti e poni sulla tua bocca la mia alleanza?

17. O Lord, thou wilt open my lips: and my mouth shall declare thy praise.

17. Mentre tu hai in odio la disciplina e hai gettato dietro le spalle le mie parole?

18. For if thou hadst desired sacrifice, I would indeed have given it: with burnt offerings thou wilt not be delighted.

18. Se vedi un ladro, tu corri da lui e con gli adùlteri tu poni la tua parte;

19. A sacrifice to God is an afflicted spirit: a contrite and humbled heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

19. la tua bocca tu rivolgi al male e la tua lingua a intessere frodi.

20. Deal favourably, O Lord, in thy good will with Sion; that the walls of Jerusalem may be built up.

20. Contro il tuo fratello dici cose obbrobriose, contro il figlio di tua madre tu poni disonore.

21. Then shalt thou accept the sacrifice of justice, oblations and whole burnt offerings: then shall they lay calves upon thy altar.

21. Queste cose tu fai e io dovrei tacere? Credi forse che io sia proprio come te? Ti rinfaccerò e tutto porrò davanti ai tuoi occhi.

22.

22. Intendete tutto questo, o voi che ignorate Dio, perché non vi divori senza che ci sia chi possa salvarvi.

23.

23. Chi mi offre il sacrificio di ringraziamento, costui mi onora, e a chi cammina rettamente, farò godere della divina salvezza".
