Deutéronome, 34
1. Moïse monta, des plaines de Moab, sur le mont Nébo,au sommet du Phasga, en face de Jéricho. Et Yahweh luimontra tout le pays: Galaad jusqu'à Dan,
1. Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, the headland of Pisgah which faces Jericho, and the LORD showed him all the land-Gilead, and as far as Dan,
2. tout Nephthali et le pays d'Ephraïm et de Manassé,tout le pays de Juda jusqu'à la mer occidentale,
2. all Naphtali, the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Western Sea,
3. le Négeb, le disctrict du Jourdain, la vallée deJéricho qui est la ville des palmiers, jusqu'àSégor.
3. the Negeb, the circuit of the Jordan with the lowlands at Jericho, city of palms, and as far as Zoar.
4. Et Yahweh lui dit: «C'est là le pays au sujetduquel j'ai fait serment à Abraham, à Isaac età Jacob, en disant: Je le donnerai à tapostérité. Je te l'ai fait voir de tes yeux; maistu n'y entreras point.»
4. The LORD then said to him, "This is the land which I swore to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that I would give to their descendants. I have let you feast your eyes upon it, but you shall not cross over."
5. Moïse, le serviteur de Yahweh, mourut là, dans lepays de Moab,selon l'ordre de Yahweh.
5. So there, in the land of Moab, Moses, the servant of the LORD, died as the LORD had said;
6. Et il l'enterrera dans la vallée, au pays de Moab,vis-à-vis de Beth-Phogor. Aucun homme n'a connu sonsépulcre jusqu'à ce jour.
6. and he was buried in the ravine opposite Beth-peor in the land of Moab, but to this day no one knows the place of his burial.
7. Moïse était âgé de cent vingt ans,lorsqu'il mourut; sa vue n'était point affaiblie, et savigueur n'était point passée.
7. Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were undimmed and his vigor unabated.
8. Les enfants d'Israël pleurèrent Moïse, dansles plaines de Moab, pendant trente jours, et les jours despleurs pour le deuil de Moïse furent accomplis.
8. For thirty days the Israelites wept for Moses in the plains of Moab, till they had completed the period of grief and mourning for Moses.
9. Josué, fils de Nun, était rempli de l'esprit desagesse, car Moïse avait posé ses mains sur lui. Lesenfants d'Israël lui obéirent et firent selon queYahweh l'avait ordonné à Moïse.
9. Now Joshua, son of Nun, was filled with the spirit of wisdom, since Moses had laid his hands upon him; and so the Israelites gave him their obedience, thus carrying out the LORD'S command to Moses.
10. Il ne s'est plus levé en Israël de prophètesemblable à Moïse, que Yahweh connaissait faceà face,
10. Since then no prophet has arisen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face.
11. ni quant à tous les signes et miracles que Dieul'envoya faire, dans le pays d'Egypte, sur Pharaon, sur tous sesserviteurs et sur tout son pays,
11. He had no equal in all the signs and wonders the LORD sent him to perform in the land of Egypt against Pharaoh and all his servants and against all his land,
12. ni quant à toute sa main puissante et à toutesles choses terribles que Moïse accomplit sous les yeux de tout Israël.$
12. and for the might and the terrifying power that Moses exhibited in the sight of all Israel.
