Deutéronome, 26

1. Lorsque tu seras entré dans le pays que Yahweh, tonDieu, te donne pour héritage, que tu en auras prispossession et y seras établi,

1. "When you have come into the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you as a heritage, and have occupied it and settled in it,

2. tu prendras une part des prémices de tous les produitsdu sol que tu auras retirés de ton pays, que te donneYahweh, ton Dieu, et, l'ayant mise dans une corbeille, tu iras aulieu que Yahweh, ton Dieu, aura choisi pour y faire habiter sonnom.

2. you shall take some first fruits of the various products of the soil which you harvest from the land which the LORD, your God, gives you, and putting them in a basket, you shall go to the place which the LORD, your God, chooses for the dwelling place of his name.

3. Tu te présenteras au prêtre alors en fonction, ettu lui diras: «Je déclare aujourd'hui àYahweh, ton Dieu, que je suis entré dans le pays queYahweh a juré à nos pères de nousdonner.»

3. There you shall go to the priest in office at that time and say to him, 'Today I acknowledge to the LORD, my God, that I have indeed come into the land which he swore to our fathers he would give us.'

4. Le prêtre recevra la corbeille de ta main et ladéposera devant l'autel de Yahweh, ton Dieu.

4. The priest shall then receive the basket from you and shall set it in front of the altar of the LORD, your God.

5. Et prenant de nouveau la parole, tu diras devant Yahweh, tonDieu: «Mon père était un Araméenprêt à périr; il descendit en Egypte avec peude gens et y vécut en étranger; là il devintune nation grande, puissante et nombreuse.

5. Then you shall declare before the LORD, your God, 'My father was a wandering Aramean who went down to Egypt with a small household and lived there as an alien. But there he became a nation great, strong and numerous.

6. Les Egyptiens nous maltraitèrent, nousopprimèrent et nous imposèrent un dur servage.

6. When the Egyptians maltreated and oppressed us, imposing hard labor upon us,

7. Alors nous criâmes à Yahweh, le Dieu de nospères, et Yahweh entendit notre voix et vit nossouffrances, notre misère et notre oppression.

7. we cried to the LORD, the God of our fathers, and he heard our cry and saw our affliction, our toil and our oppression.

8. Et Yahweh nous fit sortir d'Egypte, avec une main forte et lebras étendu, par une grande terreur, avec des signes etdes prodiges.

8. He brought us out of Egypt with his strong hand and outstretched arm, with terrifying power, with signs and wonders;

9. Il nous a conduits dans ce lieu et il nous a donné cepays, un pays où coulent le lait et le miel.

9. and bringing us into this country, he gave us this land flowing with milk and honey.

10. Et maintenant voici que j'apporte les prémices desproduits du sol que vous m'avez donné, ôYahweh.» Tu les déposeras devant Yahweh, ton dieu,et tu te prosterneras devant Yahweh, ton Dieu.

10. Therefore, I have now brought you the first fruits of the products of the soil which you, O LORD, have given me.' And having set them before the LORD, your God, you shall bow down in his presence.

11. Puis tu te réjouiras, avec le Lévite et avecl'étranger qui sera au milieu de toi de tous les biens queYahweh, ton Dieu, t'a donnés, à toi et à tamaison.

11. Then you and your family, together with the Levite and the aliens who live among you, shall make merry over all these good things which the LORD, your God, has given you.

12. Lorsque tu auras achevé de lever toute la dîme detes produits, la troisième année, l'année dela dîme, et que tu la donneras au lévite, àl'étranger, à l'orphelin et à la veuve, pourqu'ils la mangent dans tes portes et qu'ils se rassasient, tudiras devant Yahweh, ton Dieu:

12. "When you have finished setting aside all the tithes of your produce in the third year, the year of the tithes, and you have given them to the Levite, the alien, the orphan and the widow, that they may eat their fill in your own community,

13. «J'ai ôté de ma maison ce qui estconsacré, et je l'ai donné au Lévite,à l'étranger, à l'orphelin et à laveuve, selon tous vos préceptes que vous m'avezdonnés; je n'ai transgressé ni oublié aucunde vos préceptes.

13. you shall declare before the LORD, your God, 'I have purged my house of the sacred portion and I have given it to the Levite, the alien, the orphan and the widow, just as you have commanded me. In this I have not broken or forgotten any of your commandments:

14. Je n'ai pas mangé de ces choses pendant mon deuil, jen'en ai rien transporté hors de ma maison dansl'état d'impureté, et je n'en ai rien donnéà l'occasion d'un mort; j'ai obéi à la voixde Yahweh, mon Dieu, j'ai agi selon tout ce vous m'avezprescrit.

14. I have not eaten any of the tithe as a mourner; I have not brought any of it out as one unclean; I have not offered any of it to the dead. I have thus hearkened to the voice of the LORD, my God, doing just as you have commanded me.

15. Regardez de votre demeure sainte, du ciel, et bénissezvotre peuple d'Israël et le sol que vous nous avezdonné, comme vous l'avez juré à nospères, ce pays où coulent le lait et lemiel.»

15. Look down, then, from heaven, your holy abode, and bless your people Israel and the soil you have given us in the land flowing with milk and honey which you promised on oath to our fathers.'

16. Aujourd'hui Yahweh, ton Dieu, te commande de mettre enpratique ces lois et ces ordonnances; tu les observeras et lesmettras en pratique de tout ton coeur et de toute tonâme.

16. "This day the LORD, your God, commands you to observe these statutes and decrees. Be careful, then, to observe them with all your heart and with all your soul.

17. Tu as fait déclarer aujourd'hui à Yahweh qu'ilsera ton Dieu, toi t'engageant de ton côté àmarcher dans ses voies, à observer ses lois, sescommandements et ses ordonnances, et à obéirà sa voix.

17. Today you are making this agreement with the LORD: he is to be your God and you are to walk in his ways and observe his statutes, commandments and decrees, and to hearken to his voice.

18. Et Yahweh t'a fait déclarer aujourd'hui que tu luiserais un peuple particulier, comme il te l'a dit, observant tousses commandements,

18. And today the LORD is making this agreement with you: you are to be a people peculiarly his own, as he promised you; and provided you keep all his commandments,

19. lui s'engageant de son côté à te donner lasupériorité sur toutes les nations qu'il a faites,en gloire, en renom et en splendeur, en sorte que tu sois unpeuple saint à Yahweh, ton Dieu, comme il l'adit.»

19. he will then raise you high in praise and renown and glory above all other nations he has made, and you will be a people sacred to the LORD, your God, as he promised."
