2 St. John 1 is a letter written by John directed to a specific Christian community, in which he warns of false teachers and asks them to continue following the teachings of Jesus Christ. Below are five verses from other Bible books related to the topics covered in this letter:
1 John 4:1 - "Beloved, do not believe every Spirit, but prove whether the spirits come from God, for many false prophets have come out around the world." John also warns of the presence of false prophets and the importance of discerning between what comes from God and what does not come.
Matthew 24:24 - "For false Christs and false prophets will rise, and will make such great signs and wonders that if possible they would deceive even the chosen ones." Jesus Christ also foresees the presence of false prophets and their ability to deceive many.
