Ezra 1 reports the restoration of the temple in Jerusalem after the Babylonian Captivity. 2 Chronicles 36:23: "Thus says Cyrus, king of Persia: The Lord God of heaven has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and in charge of building me a house in Jerusalem, who is in Judah. Your people? The Lord your God be with Him, and go up. " This verse describes as Cyrus, as an instrument of God, allowed the Jews to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem.
