Apocalypse, 5

1. Puis je vis dans la main droite de Celui qui était assis sur le trône un livre écrit en dedans et en dehors, et scellé de sept sceaux.

1. I saw a scroll in the right hand of the one who sat on the throne. It had writing on both sides and was sealed with seven seals.

2. Et je vis un ange puissant qui criait d'une voix forte " Qui est digne d'ouvrir le livre et de rompre les sceaux? "

2. Then I saw a mighty angel who proclaimed in a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?"

3. Et personne ni dans le ciel, ni sur la terre, ne pouvait ouvrir le livre ni le regarder.

3. But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to examine it.

4. Et moi je pleurais beaucoup de ce qu'il ne se trouvait personne qui fût digne d'ouvrir le livre, ni de le regarder.

4. I shed many tears because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to examine it.

5. Alors un des vieillards me dit : " Ne pleure point; voici que le lion de la tribu de Juda, le rejeton de David, a vaincu, de manière à pouvoir ouvrir le livre et ses sept sceaux. "

5. One of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. The lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has triumphed, enabling him to open the scroll with its seven seals."

6. Et je vis, et voici qu'au milieu du trône et des quatre animaux, et au milieu des vieillards,

6. Then I saw standing in the midst of the throne and the four living creatures and the elders, a Lamb that seemed to have been slain. He had seven horns and seven eyes; these are the (seven) spirits of God sent out into the whole world.

7. un Agneau était debout: il semblait avoir été immolé; il avait sept cornes et sept yeux, qui sont les sept Esprits de Dieu envoyés par toute la terre. Il vint, et reçut le livre de la main droite de Celui qui était assis sur le trône.

7. He came and received the scroll from the right hand of the one who sat on the throne.

8. Quand il eut reçu le livre, les quatre animaux et les vingt-quatre vieillards se prosternèrent devant l'Agneau, tenant chacun une harpe et des coupes d'or pleines de parfums, qui sont les prières des saints.

8. When he took it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each of the elders held a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the holy ones.

9. Et ils chantaient un cantique nouveau, en disant : " Vous êtes digne de recevoir le livre et d'en ouvrir les sceaux; car vous avez été immolé et vous avez racheté pour Dieu, par votre sang, des hommes de toute tribu, de toute langue, de tout peuple et de toute nation ;

9. They sang a new hymn: "Worthy are you to receive the scroll and to break open its seals, for you were slain and with your blood you purchased for God those from every tribe and tongue, people and nation.

10. et vous les avez faits rois et prétres, et ils régneront sur la terre. "

10. You made them a kingdom and priests for our God, and they will reign on earth."

11. Puis je vis, et j'entendis autour du trône, autour des animaux et des vieillards, la voix d'une multitude d'anges, et leur nombre était des myriades et des milliers de milliers.

11. I looked again and heard the voices of many angels who surrounded the throne and the living creatures and the elders. They were countless in number,

12. Ils disaient d'une voix forte : " L'Agneau qui a été immolé est digne de recevoir la puissance, la richesse, la sagesse, la force, l'honneur, la gloire et la bénédiction. "

12. and they cried out in a loud voice: "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches, wisdom and strength, honor and glory and blessing."

13. Et toutes les créatures qui sont dans le ciel, sur la terre, sous la terre et dans la mer, et toutes les choses qui s'y trouvent, je les entendis qui disaient : " A Celui qui est assis sur le trône et à l'Agneau, louange, honneur, gloire et puissance dans les siècles des siècles! "

13. Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, everything in the universe, cry out: "To the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor, glory and might, forever and ever."

14. Et les quatre animaux disaient : " Amen ! " Et les vieillards se prosternèrent et adorèrent [Celui qui vit aux siècles des siècles].
