Hosea, 10

8. The high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed: the thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us.

Hosea Chapter 10 talks about the punishment that Israel will suffer because of its idolatry and infidelity. The prophet compares the people to a rebellious vineyard and predicts the destruction of their altars and idols. Jeremiah 4:3-4: "For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, 'Plan to Himself a new field, and do not sow among the thorns. Judah and Jerusalem, so that my wrath will not range like fire and burn, without anyone erasing it, because of your evil. '"This passage emphasizes the importance of true circumcision of the heart and repentance to prevent the wrath of God.

Psalm 51:17: "The sacrifices that please God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou shalt not despise." This verse shows that God values ​​humility and contrition rather than external sacrifices or religious formalities.

Isaiah 45:9: "Woe to the one who contains with his creator! Caco among other clay shards! Handles'? " This verse highlights God's sovereignty and the futility of the rebellion against him.
