Zechariah, 3

1. He showed me then the high priest Joshua standing before the Angel of Yahweh. At Joshua's right side stood Satan, ready to accuse him.

2. But the angel of Yahweh said to Satan, "May Yahweh rebuke you, Satan! Yahweh who has chosen Jerusalem - may he rebuke you! Is not this man a burning brand snatched from the fire?"

3. Clad in filthy garments, Joshua stood before the Angel,

4. who said to those in front of him, "Take off his filthy garments." Then turning to Joshua, he said, "See, I have taken away your guilt. Now I will clothe you with rich garments."

5. He added, "Put a clean turban on his head." So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, as the Angel of Yahweh looked on.

6. The Angel of Yahweh gave Joshua this assurance,

7. "Listen to this word of Yahweh Sabaoth: 'If you walk in my ways and heed my charge, you shall rule my house and keep my courts, and I will give you free access among those standing here.

8. Listen further, O high priest Joshua and your associates who join in council with you: I am going to bring my servant the Branch.

9. See, I am setting (before Joshua) a stone with seven eyes. I myself will engrave an inscription on it, and I will remove the guilt of this land in a single day.

10. On that day, you will invite one another under your vines and fig trees.' This is what Yahweh Sabaoth says."

Zechariah 3 reports the vision of a divine judgment in which the high priest Joshua is accused and then purified from his sins. The main theme of the chapter is justification before God, the removal of guilt and redemption. Five verses that address these themes are:

Psalm 103:12: "As for the East is far from the West, thus removes our transgressions from us." This verse talks about God's forgiveness and how he is able to completely remove our sins and transgressions.

Isaiah 1:18: "Come then, and argue me, says the Lord, Though your sins are like the scarlet, they will become white like snow; even if they are red as the Carmesim, they will become as the white wool. " This verse shows God's ability to forgive and clean sin, turning it into something pure and clean.

Romans 8:33-34: "Who will introduce accusation against God's chosen ones? It is God who justifies them; who will condemn them? Christ Jesus has died, or rather who has risen from the dead, which is at the right of God, and Also interceded for us. " This verse talks about the justification of believers before God and how Christ intercedes for them.

Hebrews 9:14: "The more the blood of Christ, who by the Eternal Spirit has offered Himself Immaculate to God, shall purify the dead works to your conscience, to serve the living God?" This verse talks about the purification that the blood of Christ brings to the conscience of believers, removing guilt and allowing them to serve God.

1 John 1:9: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from all injustice." This verse highlights the importance of God's confession and promise to forgive them and purify of injustice.
