0. To the choirmaster. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. According to Alamoth. A Song.

1. [For the choirmaster Of the sons of Korah For oboe Song] God is both refuge and strength for us, a help always ready in trouble;

1. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2. so we shall not be afraid though the earth be in turmoil, though mountains tumble into the depths of the sea,

2. Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;

3. and its waters roar and seethe, and the mountains totter as it heaves. (Yahweh Sabaoth is with us, our citadel, the God of Jacob.)Pause

3. though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult. [Selah]

4. There is a river whose streams bring joy to God's city, it sanctifies the dwelling of the Most High.

4. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High.

5. God is in the city, it cannot fall; at break of day God comes to its rescue.

5. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God will help her right early.

6. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms are tumbling, when he raises his voice the earth crumbles away.

6. The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts.

7. Yahweh Sabaoth is with us, our citadel, the God of Jacob. Pause

7. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. [Selah]

8. Come, consider the wonders of Yahweh, the astounding deeds he has done on the earth;

8. Come, behold the works of the LORD, how he has wrought desolations in the earth.

9. he puts an end to wars over the whole wide world, he breaks the bow, he snaps the spear, shields he burns in the fire.

9. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow, and shatters the spear, he burns the chariots with fire!

10. 'Be still and acknowledge that I am God, supreme over nations, supreme over the world.'

10. "Be still, and know that I am God. I am exalted among the nations, I am exalted in the earth!"
