Jeremiah, 48

12. Because of this, behold, the days are approaching, says the Lord, when I will send to him those who will line up and knock down his bottles, and they will knock him down and empty his vessels, and they will break their bottles against one another.

Jeremiah 48 describes the imminent destruction of Moab by the hands of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, because of his arrogance and wickedness against God. The verses selected below describe the divine judgment on Moab, the lamentation of their people, and God's sovereignty over all nations.

Isaiah 16:6 - "We have heard of the superb of Moab, his arrogance and pride, his insolence and his empty brave." This verse refers to Moab's arrogant attitude, which led to his conviction and punishment.
