Judges 6 tells the story of Gideon, a young man who was called by God to lead the Israelites in the fight against the Midianites. Gideon at first proved incredulous and asked God to prove his mission. God granted these proofs to Gideon, who finally gathered an army to face the Midianites. '"This verse speaks of the importance of trusting God in times of difficulty. David trusted God to defeat Goliath, and Gideon also trusted God to lead the Israelites against the Midianites. Both men believed that God was with them and could do great things through Him.
