Judges 6 tells the story of Gideon, a young man who was called by God to lead the Israelites in the fight against the Midianites. Gideon at first proved incredulous and asked God to prove his mission. God granted these proofs to Gideon, who finally gathered an army to face the Midianites. Both men believed that God was with them and could do great things through Him.
