1 Corinthians, 6

1. Is one of you with a complaint against another so brazen as to seek judgement from sinners and not from God's holy people?

1. Wagt es einer von euch, der mit einem anderen einen Rechtsstreit hat, vor das Gericht der Ungerechten zu gehen statt zu den Heiligen?

2. Do you not realise that the holy people of God are to be the judges of the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you not competent for petty cases?

2. Wisst ihr denn nicht, dass die Heiligen die Welt richten werden? Und wenn durch euch die Welt gerichtet wird, seid ihr dann nicht zuständig, einen Rechtsstreit über Kleinigkeiten zu schlichten?

3. Do you not realise that we shall be the judges of angels? - then quite certainly over matters of this life.

3. Wisst ihr nicht, dass wir über Engel richten werden? Also erst recht über Alltägliches.

4. But when you have matters of this life to be judged, you bring them before those who are of no account in the Church!

4. Wie könnt ihr dann jene, die im Urteil der Gemeinde nichts gelten, als Richter einsetzen, wenn ihr einen Rechtsstreit über Alltägliches auszutragen habt?

5. I say this to make you ashamed of yourselves. Can it really be that it is impossible to find in the community one sensible person capable of deciding questions between brothers,

5. Ich sage das, damit ihr euch schämt. Gibt es denn unter euch wirklich keinen, der die Gabe hat, zwischen Brüdern zu schlichten?

6. and that this is why brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers?

6. Stattdessen zieht ein Bruder den andern vor Gericht, und zwar vor Ungläubige.

7. No; it is a fault in you, by itself, that one of you should go to law against another at all: why do you not prefer to suffer injustice, why not prefer to be defrauded?

7. Ist es nicht überhaupt schon ein Versagen, dass ihr miteinander Prozesse führt? Warum leidet ihr nicht lieber Unrecht? Warum lasst ihr euch nicht lieber ausrauben?

8. And here you are, doing the injustice and the defrauding, and to your own brothers.

8. Nein, ihr selber begeht Unrecht und Raub, und zwar an Brüdern.

9. Do you not realise that people who do evil will never inherit the kingdom of God? Make no mistake -- the sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, the self-indulgent, sodomites,

9. Wisst ihr denn nicht, dass Ungerechte das Reich Gottes nicht erben werden? Täuscht euch nicht! Weder Unzüchtige noch Götzendiener, weder Ehebrecher noch Lustknaben, noch Knabenschänder,

10. thieves, misers, drunkards, slanderers and swindlers, none of these will inherit the kingdom of God.

10. noch Diebe, noch Habgierige, keine Trinker, keine Lästerer, keine Räuber werden das Reich Gottes erben.

11. Some of you used to be of that kind: but you have been washed clean, you have been sanctified, and you have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and through the Spirit of our God.

11. Und solche gab es unter euch. Aber ihr seid rein gewaschen, seid geheiligt, seid gerecht geworden im Namen Jesu Christi, des Herrn, und im Geist unseres Gottes.

12. 'For me everything is permissible'; maybe, but not everything does good. True, for me everything is permissible, but I am determined not to be dominated by anything.

12. «Alles ist mir erlaubt» - aber nicht alles nützt mir. Alles ist mir erlaubt, aber nichts soll Macht haben über mich.

13. Foods are for the stomach, and the stomach is for foods; and God will destroy them both. But the body is not for sexual immorality;

13. Die Speisen sind für den Bauch da und der Bauch für die Speisen; Gott wird beide vernichten. Der Leib ist aber nicht für die Unzucht da, sondern für den Herrn, und der Herr für den Leib.

14. it is for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body. God raised up the Lord and he will raise us up too by his power.

14. Gott hat den Herrn auferweckt; er wird durch seine Macht auch uns auferwecken.

15. Do you not realise that your bodies are members of Christ's body; do you think one can take parts of Christ's body and join them to the body of a prostitute? Out of the question!

15. Wisst ihr nicht, dass eure Leiber Glieder Christi sind? Darf ich nun die Glieder Christi nehmen und zu Gliedern einer Dirne machen? Auf keinen Fall!

16. Or do you not realise that anyone who attaches himself to a prostitute is one body with her, since the two, as it is said, become one flesh.

16. Oder wisst ihr nicht: Wer sich an eine Dirne bindet, ist ein Leib mit ihr? Denn es heißt: Die zwei werden ein Fleisch sein.

17. But anyone who attaches himself to the Lord is one spirit with him.

17. Wer sich dagegen an den Herrn bindet, ist ein Geist mit ihm.

18. Keep away from sexual immorality. All other sins that people may commit are done outside the body; but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.

18. Hütet euch vor der Unzucht! Jede andere Sünde, die der Mensch tut, bleibt außerhalb des Leibes. Wer aber Unzucht treibt, versündigt sich gegen den eigenen Leib.

19. Do you not realise that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you and whom you received from God?

19. Oder wisst ihr nicht, dass euer Leib ein Tempel des Heiligen Geistes ist, der in euch wohnt und den ihr von Gott habt? Ihr gehört nicht euch selbst;

20. You are not your own property, then; you have been bought at a price. So use your body for the glory of God.

20. denn um einen teuren Preis seid ihr erkauft worden. Verherrlicht also Gott in eurem Leib!
