Salmos, 129

1. Cântico das peregrinações. Do fundo do abismo, clamo a vós, Senhor;*

1. A Song of degrees. Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:

2. Senhor, ouvi minha oração. Que vossos ouvidos estejam atentos à voz de minha súplica.

2. Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.

3. Se tiverdes em conta nossos pecados, Senhor, Senhor, quem poderá subsistir diante de vós?

3. The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.

4. Mas em vós se encontra o perdão dos pecados, para que, reverentes, vos sirvamos.

4. The LORD [is] righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

5. Ponho a minha esperança no Senhor. Minha alma tem confiança em sua palavra.

5. Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.

6. Minha alma espera pelo Senhor, mais ansiosa do que os vigias pela manhã.

6. Let them be as the grass [upon] the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:

7. Mais do que os vigias que aguardam a manhã, espere Israel pelo Senhor, porque junto ao Senhor se acha a misericórdia; encontra-se nele copiosa redenção.

7. Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.

8. E ele mesmo há de remir Israel de todas as suas iniquidades.

8. Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD [be] upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.
