Psalm 17 is a prayer of David, where he cries to God for protection and justice against his enemies. David asks God to examine his thoughts and his actions, and that he free him of the wicked men around him. He trusts that God is His only hope and refuge. Proverbs 2:8 - "He keeps the paths of the righteous and protects the way from his faithful." This verse speaks of the protection that God offers to the righteous, those who walk in their ways and trust him.
Psalm 18:2 - "The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my liberator; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the power that saves me, my tower . " This verse speaks of David's confidence in God as his rock, his fortress and his refuge, which protects him from evil.
